“Home away from home”

We keep coming back to this little gem in South Austin. It is quiet, serene and homey. The big live oak tree spreads its limbs the entire front section of the property. The house is uphill away from the street so you feel like you are living in a tree house. The neighbor's four Rhode island Reds strut by in the mornings and afternoons....scratching through the flower beds on their way down the street. The squirrels are busy hiding nuts and it is all happening in front of the windows. The glass storm door gives you a complete view of the outdoors. Very relaxing views. Curra's is just down the road a bit, SoCo is close enough to walk to, Starbucks is around the corner and if you want to go somewhere - I-35 and Hwy 71/290W are very easily accessible. We went to some of our old favorites like: Catfish Parlour, Matt's El Rancho, Z-Tejas, Dan's Hamburgers, Thunderclouds during our 3 night stay. Of course, we also went to the Longhorn football game. Swimming pool is less than a minute away for laps or just hanging out. This house is thougtfully provisioned, the door is electronically locked so no key pick-up or return necessary. Jacob is great to work with.

“A Warm and Inviting Treehouse in SOCO”

This is an adorable place. When you look out the windows, it feels like you are sitting in the beautiful Oak Tree that twists around the front deck. The backyard is just like the pictures. The Koi pond is very beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed the hot tub, which was hot and ready to go. It is under what used to be the carport. Although, you never get the feeling that you are under the carport, it is tastefully decorated in a Texas rustic shabby chic. The very native natural landscape inspired me to make my own more native.

The bedrooms both had very comfortable beds with soft linens and comfy cotton blankets. The bathroom is as pretty as pictured. The water pressure in the shower is delicate but soothing.

The kitchen is well organized and very well stocked with everything you need to cook with including a few basic spices. There was coffee and sugar for the coffee maker and a blender and toaster. There was also foil and plastic wrap. The kitchen island has two bar stools, nice for hanging in the kitchen. Everything was very clean.

The sun room in the back of the house is really cute, with a table and several chairs and even a little wet bar with a fridge. It looks out onto the pretty backyard.

The living room has a very nice sized digital flat screen, it think LED with Apple Home sound system. The seating is not the most comfortable. There is a futon that is low to the ground and not very soft. There is a small western settee that is narrow and hard.
There are also two cubes under the TV, there okay to sit but not relax. So there is a great TV but no where comfortable to sit.

All in all we loved our stay. It fit our needs well. Dealing with the owner directly was a very pleasant and smooth transaction. Our deposit was back within a week.

FYI...The driveway is steep, so park on the street. The view makes it work the hike up.
