My husband and I stayed here for one night during a trip to Austin simply because we had loved the Travaasa Hana so much, and, unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed with our stay at the Travaasa Austin.
I'll start with the good: the property has amazing views of Lake Travis and is located in a beautiful and secluded part of Austin. That being said, not much else was all that spectacular, particularly considering how much we had paid to stay here. The service was so-so and the activities we wanted to do almost all seemed filled before we had a chance to sign-up for them. We did get to do hatchet-throwing, and that was a fun experience.
The on-site restaurant was just okay, and the hotel is incredibly far from other restaurants, so keep that in mind if you plan on staying here. One small other note, be prepared to really be one with nature at this resort, as we had several bug encounters in our room during our stay - much to our dismay.
Perhaps we would have enjoyed this trip more if we had had more time to stay here, but, we only stayed in the Travaasa Hana for one night as well and that hotel experience blew us away. So, perhaps the Travaasa team should look into ways to improve this experience, as we left with no plans to return.More
