Wonderfully relaxing stay with great food and service from Plum Pond B&B's owners, Dick and Nancy. When they said it was their pleasure to serve us, they meant it and we will be back.
Plum Pond is a delightful B&B situated on a working cattle and hay farm. Fishing, hiking, and just plain relaxing are great starters for each day. In nearby Canton, Texas we visited the First Monday Trade Days which brings 2500+ vendors and 12,000 shoppers together beginning the Thursday before the weekend of each month with the first Monday following it.
Plum Pond also has barn stalls to keep your horse for riding on the 70 acre farm with a lake and creek to enjoy as well as trails.
We enjoyed the Soldier Room ($110) with our own private patio. There are 3 other rooms which each sleep 2 or 3 people: Harvest (2) - $110, Lavender (2) - $110, and Cowboy (3) - $130. The breakfasts were elegant and delicious starting with a hefty fruit dish and soon followed by a new entree each morning....Creme' Brulee French Toast with strawberries and bacon or a King Ranch Egg and Sausage casserole with Lavender and blueberries on the side.
We had a romantic weekend enjoying evenings and afternoons alone in our room and walks along the country road. Fresh flowers and wine made the evenings really special for my husband and me. We were blessed with this time together.
We took some photos to share with our friends.
