Not much to this place, or that i saw anyway. we only stayed a night with our tour group, it was nice to see mowed grass to set up our tents on. after going out for dinner we came back and sat around chatting, listening to planes, trains, cars, watching the bunny rabbits and seeing a 'shooting star' which we have come to realize was a satellite or something like that burning across the sky. we then got to enjoy the sunrise over the horizon, magical!

Our family really enjoyed the Amarillo KOA. Nice staff with easy access to I-40 with activities for the kids. There's a hay ride nightly, a limo ride can be arranged to the Big Texan restaurant and there's a nice pool. This was one of our favorite KOA's on our recent trip across the country.

We stopped for one night otw home. Courteous staff, lots of green grass, a few medium size trees, nice swimming pool and showers are just a few of the things I liked about this KOA. We stayed here last year and in a years time, many improvements have been completed. There are 4-5 new small log cabins that were not here last year. The building housing the showers is new. This KOA allows horses and has provided a secure pen, as well as, frequent posts in the grassy area which could be used for tying your horse for brief periods of time. This KOA is located near an industrial park - however, the many pluses of this park far outweigh this factor! The RV sites are pull through and provide adequate space. Picnic tables are provided for each space. We will stay here again.

We stayed here overnight both times we came through Amarillo on our road trip. It's a very convenient overnight stop. The staff are friendly and efficient.

Our RV site was very level, and the campground was clean. Lots of space with grass to walk the dogs. We will definitely stay here again on our next camping trip out this way.

KOAs are sometimes found near airports or train tracks because these are the cheapest tracks of land that are conveniently located near a major highway.

It means they can be very noisy and there's a good chance a train whistle will wake you up in the middle of the night. This was indeed the case at this site.

The tent camping area was very open (no trees anywhere) and the ground, while covered with grass, was rock hard from being dry. The lack of tree cover also allowed the wind to whip through the campsite and threaten to pull all the tents off their pegs.

This KOA is unsuitable only for RVs and even then I've been in much better ones.

Thank you for camping with us during your summer visit to the area, Susan and Vinh. We are very sorry that our convenient location, as well as our tent sites, did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your feedback and will pass along your concerns to our management team for further review. We wish you both all the best.
