Meet with friends for explore of this Old Colony museum. Learned how and why these German settlers came to Oregon to settle in their utopian community, and people being people perfection not attained, but an industrious group that did much to advance agriculture and music in their region of the Willamette Valley. Fun to see settings of daily segments of work needed with tools, plus great medicinal garden.
After museum explore walked Emma's path to get a better understanding of Colony's layout in 1853; seeing beyond how town is configured today. Along the way easy to take a break for coffee or lunch and especially to check out the multitude of antique shops.
Hope to return for big Quilt Festival that happens over a week mid-October.
