Wife and I wanted to stay somewhere unusual for our 35th anniversary, had heard about the Rebel Hill Guest Ranch, found them online, and reserved the 1911 vintage passenger car - all 80ft of it. Very comfortable, very retro fun, hosts were great, made friends with livestock and critters during our walk about the grounds to look at the other cabins and the lake. One night was not enough to take it all in, need more time and a bunch of family and friends to do it up right. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Ultimate destination for large or small gatherings! We were about 30 of all ages. Cabins accommodate the most intimate groups to a dozen folks per cabin. Unique decor is intriguing in each one. Multiple Ponds are close to each cabin. Our kids ranged from age 3-12. They were entertained with fishing, paddle boating, horseback riding, feeding horses and elk. Everything was easily accessed. The grounds are primitive yet well maintained. The proprietor was attentive to any need--though they were already anticipated and addressed in advance. Our group was on location less than 15 minutes before they were determining to come back next year!
Thank you Rebel Hills for our successful 1st family reunion!!! See you again soon

If you want to enjoy the great outdoors, but also enjoy the amenities of a guest cabin, this is the place. The Hideout Cabin is where we stayed, and it will become our regular vacation spot. It will sleep more people comfortably, but we had 2 adults and two pre-teens.

If you want a four star hotel, stay somewhere else. If you want to relax, fish, horseback ride, paddle boat and tour almost 600 acres of beautiful land, stay here. Our cabin was surrounded by a pond, accessible only by bridge, and was very secluded. The beds were comfortable and the kids really enjoyed the loft.

It rained quite a lot, so we only got to horseback ride once. The guide was very friendly and provided great insight into where all the ponds are for fishing (there are at least 4 or 5 besides the one surrounding the Hideout).

Speaking of the rain, there are few things more relaxing than listening to the rain on the tin roof. I might feel differently if it rained the entire time, but we were blessed with a range of weather.

We mainly fished the pond around the cabin, and pulled in about 30 catfish (all small, except one 2-pounder), maybe 70 perch (some hand-sized), 2 small bass, and 5 or 6 sneaky turtles. Don't worry, it is catch and release so we put them all back for future visitors...even the turtles. We were told there were much bigger cats and bass in the other ponds, but we were happy where we were.

I heard they also have a pool, but we never got around to it. Maybe I will review that next time.

Only interacted with friendly and warm people the entire time. Will certainly be returning again...and again.

Peaceful and relaxing getaway. BEAUTIFUL views. From fishing to horseback riding, the ranch had many activities. The cabin was very unique and had all the amenities of home. Super private and quiet. Perfect for a peaceful vacation.

This was our second visit to this place. Our first visit was about 2-3 years ago and was great. We stayed in one of the traditional cabins on our first visit and awoke early the next morning to about 20 horses surrounding the front porch. The trip was planned for our daughter's birthday, who loves horses, so seeing her feed carrots and apples to the horses was wonderful.

However, our second stay wasn't as great. The room accommodations were disappointing. We stayed in the train car. Upon arrival there were flies everywhere on the front porch and literally about 75-100 flies inside the cabin, and dead flies all over the floor. It was extremely hot (about 100 degrees) during our trip, and the air conditioning had a tough time keeping the train car cool, but that's understandable. The water pressure in the kitchen is basically non-existent. It's a small dribble at best, which makes washing your own dishes (which they want) before you leave a huge headache. Lastly, and the simplest, easiest fix of all, the linens in the kitchen were atrocious. They provide dish clothes and towels, and there were more holes in those worn out rags than there was remaining cloth. For a quick $10-15 dollars at the dollar store this could be fixed. Why wouldn't the management realize the awful impression this leaves on the guests?

In summary, the properly and grounds are nice - the ponds with paddle boats and canoes provided, the wild horses roaming around, and the guided horseback rides are all wonderful, but the management needs to spend a little extra time on some of the details of the accommodations they provide their guests. With a very small investment, they could remedy these issues and certainly increase the return customer rate.
