My sister, her fiancee, my girlfriend and I visited the Seaside Hotel for the first week of the season this year (May 7th). The hotel had just been refurbished, everything was spotless and in great condition.
We all took part in loads of activities:
Wakeboarding/Skiing: My favorite, but I am biased. Got a tow every day that I asked for one, early morning conditions were great. Staff were great at teaching the beginners in our party. Was well chuffed when I managed a smooth Wake2Wake on the last day.
Sailing: Loved learning to sail. Fersad and Gordon were brilliant teachers. Had a few bumps to the head (that's why they call it a boom) and dips in the water, but that's all part of the learning process. Got our RYA Lvl1 Dinghy certificates. We all even had enough confidence to take out a Bahiha for the end of week regatta, although we weren't exactly first, or second ...
Windsurfing: Also great. As with the sailing, morning conditions were perfect for beginners, with the wind picking up around noon if you wanted to push yourself. Takes it toll on the body: bumps, bruises, scratches to the legs and arms, but it's all worth it.
Tennis: We all took part in the tennis lessons and improved our games to varying degrees :D This was a great workout, and a good way to meet other guests.
The food was great and always varied. Service in the restaurant and at the bar was always friendly and efficient. Really enjoyed the supplementary meals we paid for (BBQ, Turkish) and the entertainment that went along with them.
The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable with free use of the safe. Some people complain about the firm beds, but I never had an issue with them and generally got a good sleep (I was always exhausted from all the activities).
All in all, I loved this holiday and can't wait to go back. I'll consider trying other Neilson resorts just for the sake of variety, but have a feeling that nowhere will live up to the Seaside
Hotels high standards.
