My sister, her fiancee, my girlfriend and I visited the Seaside Hotel for the first week of the season this year (May 7th). The hotel had just been refurbished, everything was spotless and in great condition.

We all took part in loads of activities:

Wakeboarding/Skiing: My favorite, but I am biased. Got a tow every day that I asked for one, early morning conditions were great. Staff were great at teaching the beginners in our party. Was well chuffed when I managed a smooth Wake2Wake on the last day.

Sailing: Loved learning to sail. Fersad and Gordon were brilliant teachers. Had a few bumps to the head (that's why they call it a boom) and dips in the water, but that's all part of the learning process. Got our RYA Lvl1 Dinghy certificates. We all even had enough confidence to take out a Bahiha for the end of week regatta, although we weren't exactly first, or second ...

Windsurfing: Also great. As with the sailing, morning conditions were perfect for beginners, with the wind picking up around noon if you wanted to push yourself. Takes it toll on the body: bumps, bruises, scratches to the legs and arms, but it's all worth it.

Tennis: We all took part in the tennis lessons and improved our games to varying degrees :D This was a great workout, and a good way to meet other guests.

The food was great and always varied. Service in the restaurant and at the bar was always friendly and efficient. Really enjoyed the supplementary meals we paid for (BBQ, Turkish) and the entertainment that went along with them.

The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable with free use of the safe. Some people complain about the firm beds, but I never had an issue with them and generally got a good sleep (I was always exhausted from all the activities).

All in all, I loved this holiday and can't wait to go back. I'll consider trying other Neilson resorts just for the sake of variety, but have a feeling that nowhere will live up to the Seaside
Hotels high standards.

This was our 3rd Neilson holiday but our first at Ortakent - we were in the minority as most people there had been there before, some several times. Its a small hotel and is probably the friendliest place we've ever stayed - after a couple of days we knew lots of people and the children had made lots of friends. Staff and guests socialise together and its very relaxed and informal. Activities are fantastic as usual at Neilson. Kids activities were excellent, our children had such a wonderful time we couldn't tear them away from the kids club - they were on or in the water lots doing a wide range of things. the nannies were so enthusiastic and energetic and our girls were sorry to say goodbye to them. This resort seemed to do more with the children than the other 2 neilsons we had been to, made lovely holiday diaries for them and went sailing/kayaking etc at least once per day often more. The speedboat trip to camel beach was the highlight. Fantastic for parents to have the opportunity to do their own thing (windsurfing, sailing, wakeboarding, waterski-ing, tennis, mountain biking, fitness all included). we were on holiday to chill out so did the tennis and sailing both of which were lots of fun and we did improve!
Lovely relaxed atmosphere, nice small village nearby for non-catered nights. they have a couple of nights of low key entertainment at the hotel as well.
Food good, restaurant service excellent they work so hard. Not as big a range of food as you would find in other neilsons resorts as its quite small.
Lovely spa treatments.
Downsides:
Accommodation - hotel has just been refitted but the bedroom decor I thought was on the dismal side - brown dingy style. Balconies - can't fit more than 2 people on and even then its a squeeze. Rooms had all the basics - air con, safe, small hairdryer but lacked any personality/holiday feel. Also on arrival there were some issues with our room and no-one available who spoke English - think they should have an English speaker on reception on arrival day especially when you arrive late at night with little kids - it was not the best welcome we've ever had. Beach is very small and gritty sand - mostly for watersports.

Don't let these niggles put you off - Overall - a brilliant holiday, came back feeling like a new person, kids cried when they had to leave, fab activities, lots of lovely people it really was a great holiday - can see why everyone goes back!. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: interconnecting rooms are good for families

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms have been beautifully updated, and the shower rooms are great. Rooms are a little bit small, but that is made up for by the fact that we didn't spend much time in our room as there is so much going on in the way of activities plus sunbathing! We love it so much that we are returning for another holiday in four months time. Every guest that I met said that it is one of their favourite places to holiday and they keep going back!

We are just back from a week away at this resort and will definitely be back, probably next year. The food was great, staff excellent and all in all this is a relaxed friendly resort which attracts a great mix of people. We took our 4 year old daughter and could not drag her away from the kids club, she loved all the activities and was out in sailing boats, kayaks, speedboats, fun boats, tennis, face painting, pizza making, swimming... the list goes on.. The staff in charge of the kids were enthusiastic, mature, responsible and great fun! Thanks to Stevie for making our daughters time so fantastic! We got to do some sailing and the stretch and relax sessions overlooking the sea were lovely, there is loads more to do (tennis coaching, windsurfing, water skiing, cycling..) or you can just relax on a lounger. The rooms are newly refurbished and are small but functional, no sea view (we looked out on the bike shed) but you do not spend much time in your room so that was not a big problem. Beach is sand and shingle and while not a huge stretch of sand it was primarily for access for sailing, windsurfing etc and suited that purpose well. It is a great family holiday, especially if you want to do watersports or tennis / cycling or just get some time to yourself while the kids have fun doing all the sports on offer at the kids club. (Would not recommend the platinum package as you can select things like fridge filled, towels, late check out and pay when there).

We have very recently returned from a neilson holiday and i can honestly say it was the best holiday i have ever been on. Theres so much to do and its so exthrilling and exting! Amazing scenery and even in october very sunny! The kids clubs are very good and keep the kids jam packed with watersports and activites off the water like volleyball tennis and even walking in to the local village for milkshakes! Honestly have to say it was the best holiday ever and we will defenetly be going back somtime not in the distant futre.
