“Bring back Byram”
Reviewed 15 August 2011

Great hotel. Brilliant manager during the day, Billal is a very nice guy, Byram is a really nice barman, as is Ali. David is not so nice, and watch your bill.

Can't fault it bar small rooms and David the barman. Great pool area. Feels safe and would stay here again.

Stayed at this hotel for 9 nights, the hotel itself is lovely but the rooms are very basic, a bed and bathroom! I was expecting a kitchen and balcony! A 20 minute walk to the centre and beach also! But the town is great, very lively but prepare to get mithered! I did overall have a fantastic holiday!

Hotel La Rosa is a very nice place to stay, if you're looking for ideal location, good service, hotel / room cleanliness and reasonable pricing... The staff are very friendly, especially Bayram and Ali who definitely will go out of there way to make sure you are at hearts content!!!

Other staff members include David, who is also a pleasure to be around...

If a negative comment was to be made, it would be the Breakfast - well lack of it - do I need say anymore?!

We stayed at the La Rosa at the beginning of July as a 2 adult 2 children family. All I can say was it was fantastic- I, as one of kids, found it to be an extremely homely and welcoming Hotel.
We arrived at 3am to be greeted by a lovely man, Deniz, who got Bayram and he carried our cases to our room. Our room was cramped, but we were changed to an actual family room in no time with no bother and cleaned in no time By Gamze and Aygun, a mother and daughter who were extremely friendly and it was a pleasure to see their happy faces everyday :)
We went half board so breakfast and dinner were included- breakfast was continental, traditional and Turkish and very nice and very fresh and could be eaten on the terrace overlooking the pool and bar. Dinner every night was different and equally as pleasing as the breakfast, we didn't eat out once because the food was that good and severed to us each night with a smile :D We recommend the Bruscetta! We became addicted to the Turkish tomatoes.
As far as facilities go the room we were moved to was spacious with a television with MTV and BBC world news among other Turkish and French speaking channels. The Hotel was cleaned everyday to a high standard and the only thing we would complain about is the fact the balcony's are French balcony's and very small indeed, however we had two.
There have been many unfair, unkind and simply ridiculous things said about the Staff at La Rosa. I am a teenage girl and without a doubt in Turkey I get attention, however I have no complaints about the attention at the Hotel. The 5 waiters/Barmen were 5 of the nicest guys I have ever met in my life, hard working and efficient and still time to be nothing but completely lovely.
Bayram, the barman, has had nothing but complete bull**** written about him on this website. From the first day there he was welcoming and lovely to our whole family and called my sister and I his "sisters" and indeed treated us like sisters. Of course, he may have flirted with girls his own age but I can only say one thing- they were more than asking for it. Coming from someone with an outside view on the way these women, I'd say I'm pretty accurate.
Ali "Antonio Banderas" became a close friend of ours and we were honoured to have such a nice guy serving us everyday, not just as a waiter, but as a friend. The guys have no days off at all and only 5 hours a day off when they really should be sleeping but Ali took my family and a lovely brother and sister from England to Turgetreis were we had a good nosey round the Bazaar. It's not part of his job description but he did it anyway and we were so thankful. Ali was a good laugh, helpful and has fantastic English. He's an absolute credit to La Rosa.
Davut, friendly and funny, and there to improve his English; he kept us supplied with chocolate and he does his job superbly .
Necati and Ugur: Necati the youngest of the 5 guys was such a hard worker, always cleaning and kept the eating area magnificent. I feel he would benefit more from taking a bigger role at La Rosa as he speaks great English but has little chance to put this into practise. Ugur another young waiter was a lovely yet very shy guy, but maybe only because his English is limited, like Necati he was so efficient and worked off his feet but never denied us a smile :D
All of these waiters are genuine, lovely guys that deserve far more than a measly £120 a month and some of the cheek they get from guests. They tried to teach me some Turkish that I've remembered and I've stayed in contact with a couple of them and the Staff alone is reason enough for returning as they are just great.
As I've already said the cleaner and her sons and daughter were lovely and did a fabulous job, the day receptionist Bilar was very nice and helpful with great English, as was Deniz the night receptionist who was sooo lovely. Even when the boss turned 51 we were invited to a karoke night filled with fun, a free round of drinks and banoffee birthday cake- just delicious!
Turkey is a fantastic country overflowing with hospitable people, fantastic weather and limitless places to see. Gumbet wouldn't be our favourite place in the country but Bodrum was just gorgeous. As far as the country goes, it's everything from buzzing night life to quaint villages and camels. It has something for everyone and staying at the La Rosa is a good start to visiting Mugla :)

Room Tip: Make sure when you ask for a balcony it is what you and I would call a balcony, Thomas Cook ill info...

Rooms were very basic, but really clean and tidy and more than aceptable for a 3* hotel in Turkey.
The pool areas was gorgeous.
Sheets and towels are only change twice a week, and the air con isnt brill.... but hols are what you make them
The main problem really was the staff at the bar round the pool being pushy and letchy and adding extra stuff on the bill...shame really nice hotel spoilt by the staff!!
