This hotel is very hard to find, and as others have noted, it is on what looks like an alley but with a constant stream of speeding traffic. Once there, however, the hotel is lovely. A lush and quiet courtyard is at the center, with rooms facing inward. Ours had a nice balcony overlooking the pool, and shaded with flowering vines. The pool sparkles with glass tiles. Rooms are accessed by a series of breezeways, each one decorated differently, with Turkish rugs and furnishings, art, and plantings. Our room was simple but comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good, and served in the restaurant just off the courtyard. I could see spending more time at this hotel.

We just spent two perfectly lovely nights at Su Otel. Our room and little front porch were clean, cozy and offered a great view of the pool area. We loved all of the artistic details of the place...colorful paint scheme, blue mosaic path that leads down the little alley to the bright blue entrance gates, owner/manager Zafer's cheery artwork, and the beautiful flowering vines that spill over the balconies. Because the hotel is tucked back off of the street, it's very quiet, but at the same time extremely convenient to the harbor and marina...just a five minute walk. Zafer and staff were friendly and incredibly helpful with advice regarding our plans for time spent in Bodrum and beyond. They made calls on our behalf to the bus company and to a friend who took us on a short boat ride around the harbor. We loved the bountiful breakfast on the open air terrace and appreciated their generous offer of a laptop at no charge. In all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Su Otel to anyone looking for a small hotel with personal service.

Just returned from the Su and must report that it is the ideal choice for a quiet relaxing holiday in Bodrum while still having the historic and social attractions close by. We found almost everything about it perfect. The staff cannot be more helpful and we had no experience of the negative comments given on this website. Spotlessly clean everywhere and just a delight to relax in a small private hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room.

Rooms/Service. Boutique-y, basic and clean. Booked a double, but moved to a much larger suite. Suite is equipped with fridge. Shower will be a challenge for the larger sized population. It's like a shower capsule. No TVs in either room. Community TV provided in outdoor lounge/bar area. Service was great - welcoming, attentive and nice. Cute pool area. Didn't have the opportunity to eat there, but menu was diverse and seemed reasonably priced. Free wifi, but didn't seem to work in the rooms - only in community areas.

Location. Convenient. Not on water, but less than 5 minute walk to water, restaurants, bars and shopping. This part of Bodrum doesn't have much of a sandy beach front, but narrow pebble stretches so you're not missing much by not being on the water.

Overall. Choice to stay here was based on recommendation of prior guest and consistent reviews compared to the mixed reviews of the resorts. I didn't visit any of the resorts, so I can't comment on whether the price differential is justified, but I think that you get a decent value for what you pay when you stay at Su. It's not amenity-rich, but it's sufficient.

Additional. Hotel manager has good suggestions. Listen to him. We did not and arranged a boat trip and trip to Ephesus with the tourist adventure providers in town. Boat trip is more about docking in the water and people swimming in the water around the boat...I was looking for more of a lying on a beach type of thing. Research in advance what beaches have the things you like in a beach and take a bus/private boat there. When selling the Ephesus tour, they omit details of the tourist trap stop at the jewelry factory. It is much cheaper to go on the group tour, but you pay dearly with your time and control over your day. The included lunch involves a stop for a gross buffet style lunch at a tourist hub (with such good food in Turkey, it is such a tragic waste of an opportunity for a good meal) and then a stop at a jewelry factory where you spend two hours trying to escape aggressive sales reps. I only wanted to see Ephesus. If you wake up early and arrange for a private car per Su recommendation, you can be done with Ephesus by lunch time, with the other half of your day available for the beach of your choice. Group tour will bring you back around 730/8. The tour groups in town go on two days per week and so maybe if those two days are avoided, it will also be less crowded.

Room Tip: Choose a suite - double/twin rooms are small.

The Su Otel is a wonderful example of Turkish hospitality in an enchanting setting. Located a short 5 min walk from the marina and 10 min to the bizarre, it provides a quiet sanctuary in busy Bodrum. The rooms facing the pool are large by Turkey standards (though not by US standards) and have all needed amenities (soap, shampoo, hair dryer). The rooms are clean and well tended as is the glorious pool in the center of all. The bar is open day and night for an anytime cold beer or refreshing cocktail. Breakfast is included and is the traditional Turkish fair. You can order off the menu for dinner, but prices are a bit expensive. Ali and Zephyir who run the place are wonderfully welcoming and helpful with suggestions about beyond hotel activities. Many Brits, Austalians and a few Americans filled the hotel, so speaking English was never a problem. Overall, a fabulous experience!

Room Tip: Ask for second level room facing the pool.
