“Quaint Restaurants & Cafes, & lots of history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 September 2012

After you eat or sleep, if you like history and architecture - check out the stone wall and the raised walk around much of "Intramuros," which is the old fortified, original city area where many Spanish structures are still used and maintained. Many of the gates and openings in the wall are named after royalty, each in its own flavor and setting and one was built as early as the 17th Century on behalf of the Chinese settlers. Much of the wall as seen today was built in the 1860’s and it’s intricate stone patterns, though designed by the Spanish and following the patterns from Europe also depict the superior quality workmanship of the Filipinos.

“Great Historical place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2012

This area is like an oasis of Manila.
It is hidden amidst the bustling city and pollution of Manila city.
Rich culture and history is all around the place.
You will feel like you're back at hispanic time when you're in this place.
Be ready for a long walk since this is the way you will enjoy your tour around Intramuros.
Try to visit the great Manila Cathedral, awesome San Agustine Church and Museum, Casa Manila and Bahay Tsinoy and visit last the Fort Santiago, a lovely place inside Intramuros area. You can make this your last stop since the area has a very relaxing ambiance. Benches are also available inside the Fort Santiago if you wish to stay longer and enjoy the fresh breeze of wind.
Museum of Jose Rizal(Philippine National hero) is also available for public viewing.
