Review of Tamarind

Tamarind
Ranked #12 of 37 Restaurants in Victoria
Description: Our specialty beachside restaurant serves authentic, creative Pan Asian flavours on the deck or on the sand. Lunch with azure ocean views and have dinner by candle light. Blending imported ingredients, fresh Indian Ocean seafood and tamarind grown in the north of the island and picked at its peak, our signature recipes tantalise. Try seared shrimps with tamarind, papaya and roasted red onion salad or slow roasted duck breast with tamarind and red curry sauce, followed by Takamaka flamed bananas in a tamarind glaze and almond tamarind ice cream, sipped with our tamarind and golden rum champagne cocktail.

This restaurant came as a nice little surprise when we were staying in Avani hotel on our honeymoon. We were not expecting much when we went to reserve a table at the restaurant. We were greeted by Sous chef Pitchapha, who was very friendly and helpful. She took us through the menu and put at ease my wife's concern about the authenticity of the food(My wife lived in Thailand, most of her life). We booked our table for the evening and were treated to an amazing Thai dinner prepared by chef Pitchapha. We loved it so much that we went back the next day. We loved the fresh Som Tum and Lobster with cashew and vegetables. It's a shame that the hotel doesn't promote the restaurant on its own.

Great location & decor. Highly recommend the Tamarind Restaurant to anyone whilst in Seychelles. They serve mainly Thai cuisine from a wide choice of mouth watering dishes. We view the Tamarind Restaurant as a little Thailand in Seychelles. The F&B Manager Mr. Laurent Duval was present to make us feel at ease complimented by two amongst the greatest restaurants attendants in Seychelles namely; Julia & Alice. These two matured ladies will go an extra mile to demonstrate that your presence at the Tamarind Restaurant is valued. We highly recommend this place to any one who would like to eat Asiatic cuisine.

Lovely meal rather expensive for what we had compared to home prices, waiters were slightly miserable. Lovely; clean toilets and area to eat.

One of the best Thai restaurant which I visited. The quality of the food was excellent, big variety of dishes and wonderful treatment of the employees. They care all the details and always have a smile for you. The best employees are: Sajan Dhurma, Suzie,Emilie,Gina and the chef Wirat and the his team from kitchen.
Thanks for make our holidays the best holidays ever!!

A little bit pricy but worth it.

From one appetizers to dessert, the food was amazing.

The tiger prawns were fresh as it was very much evident in the texture of the meat, plus the flavor as you could really Taste the prawn.

The grilled rib eye was cooked evenly, the juice and flavor comes out as you cut the meat. The pinkish color the middle was evenly distributed in the center of the meat.

The flavor of the phad Thai, chicken curry and mango salsa was authentic Thai.

I honestly did not expect a nice plating presentation, but they were able to exceed my standards.

We were able to meet the Thai chef of the restaurant, I forgot his name but he was very friendly, kept on asking about the food quality and over all experience. He was very nice.
