“Good food nice atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 February 2012

A nice restaurant with the Malay architecture. Good food especially the traditional Malay dishes. A very relaxing place especially if you have your dinner on the terrace. The price maybe a wee bit higher but well compensated with what you get from it..

“Overpriced tourist trap”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2011

The buffet looks great but the food was only average, and the meat dishes had run out by the time we got to them. The place was packed and it was hard to get at some of the food stalls. The cultural show was so so, but as we were sitting near the back it was hard to see. Unless you get a table near the front, it will be a problem to see and take photos. If you want to order drinks, check the price first as they are VERY expensive.
The place is packed each night with tour groups.

“Tasteless food and disinterested service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 December 2011

We had 8:30 pm reservations at Seri Melayu, a restaurant across the Prince Hotel, that supposedly serves authentic Malaysian cuisine, with a cultural dance program. It was quite busy when we got there. After a long discussion between two of the staff, we were taken to the middle of the seating area and told to sit among the already seated guests. We stood around for a while, then decided to leave, since eating separately didn't seem a particularly fun dining experience. A free table for four appeared. Apparently the program ends at 9:00, so it was done by the time we sat. The food seemed stale, didn't really taste great, and the staff was generally disinterested and tired.  We probably caught them on an off night, but the experience was 1 star. Standard tour group destination.
