Opens at 9am to 6pm. Ideal for snacks hunting. You can walk around and eat some a variety of foods and get stuffed after walking to the end of the market. Souvenirs shops are also available.
Food to try:
- Senbei : Rice Crackers
- Tako balls
- Squid head
- Soya Bean Croquette : Super Super good !

Nishiki is a great place to see, smell and taste all of the food and drink that Kyoto has to offer. It is very good for fish and vegetables, and local pickles. There is also tea, sake, ceramics and knives. There are great photo opportunities but some stores have a sign saying no photos, and it can get crowded so take care. You can get take away food and some places you can sit

Super nice market covered but very crowded(no sure if it was because of Japanese holidays?) we had a baby stroller, the pavement is flat but since it has so many people it was not easy to walk thought.
You can find many different type of foods, fish balls, ice cream, cakes etc to try. Prices are not outrageous (compared to some places) depends on what you eat obviously!!

Interesting but exceptionally crowded to the extent my wife and I never made it to the end - we gave up!!

Loved this very long market with lots of small local merchants with a variety of treats, many offering free samples. This was the highlight of our very short Kyoto trip.
