This was our best garden visit. The moss gardens are spectacular and breathtaking. It was raining when we visited...that made it even more beautiful. Moss as a ground cover is underrated in the west .... here you will see a thing of beauty.....and a joy forever.
The scribing of the lotus sutra put us in the right frame of mind. The entrance fee of 3000 yen is steep and the application process you have read about keeps this place from being overrun by crowds. An absolute must-see... if you get the permit beforehand.
