We are on the first evening of Hong Kong Michelin Tour Meet-up in Kyoto. Looking forward to seeing the cherry blossom in the next few days.
I chose this restaurant for the first dinner because it is conveniently located above the JR Kyoto station on the 10/F accessible via Isetan.
Its a Friday evening. We decided going to this restaurant at last minute so there had been no prior booking....so we had waited for almost one hour before we were seated.
Once we sat down, one of the friendly chefs greeted me with a big smile. When we made the decision about the order, the other chef noted it right away and asked a waitress to help us with the order.
We were seated at the "bar table" which was the most lively part of the whole restaurant. The two chefs fulfilled each order efficiently and it's a pleasure to watch their movement during the dinner.
Must order is "chicken cartilage"! We have order two green salads, one of which is raw cabbage in miso dip. Do explore other dishes if you are going there.
If you choose beef, the price would be more expensive. But if you choose the chicken yakitori, each dish ranges from 300 to 450 yen...such a good price.
Quite a number of Japanese business people are there for social gathering.
