What made it fantastic:
- lovely, helpful staff on reception
- large, clean and bright room
- good facilities such as a stovetop (just single plate), fridge, cutlery etc
- 10 meters from the subway
- next door to an awesome vending machine restaurant (it’s not much to look at from the outside but it’s great) as well as a supermarket, convince store, and McDonalds if you are so inclined
- general room facilities were good such as the cotton kimono they give you to wear, slippers, bathroom amenities etc

What wasn’t ideal but you can live with:
- the fridge was a bit noisy so we had to unplug it at night
- our room was right near the lift and whilst the double glazing keeps out the traffic noise perfectly, the noise coming from under the door was pretty bad, particularly when people are checking out with all their bags and banging around.

Stay there, you won’t regret it.

Just booked this accommodation from the website. Was very surprised by the size of the room when we checked in . They are very large by Japan standards which was great as we were staying 5 nights. The staff very very friendly and went out of their way to help. We did not have any problems with the language. We only speak English and the staff were able to communicate to us. There is a laundry onsite and 7 -11 across the road. Plenty of restaruants nearby and the train station is just down the road. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay in Kyoto

Room Tip: room at the front over look street and have more natural light

I loved loved loved this hotel. Having stayed in much smaller rooms throughout our travels in Japan, it felt luxurious to have a room with a small seating area and kitchenette. It gave us a bit of room to spread out and room to relax after a long day of touring. We were here just as a typhoon was hitting the area and the staff did a fantastic job of keeping guests updated on weather and train conditions via whiteboard in the lobby. The hotel we came from just prior to arriving - which was more directly in the typhoon's path - just glossed over the impending storm. It was a relief to arrive here and see that the staff was in tune with the changing conditions and was keeping everyone as up to date as possible. After we left, I kept referring to this hotel stay in Kyoto as such a delight. Thank you!

These apartments are about one kilometre from the Kyoto train station. If you are a traveller with luggage don't use the subway as recommended on hotel website. Many, many flights of stairs with elevator impossible to find. Next day we realised that hotel is straight forward from Kyoto station, and an easy walk on flat, well-paved footpath (see map). Alternately, catch a taxi costing about 1,000 yen AUS $12.50. Great to have an apartment with space (by Japanese standards), and cooking facilities. Found staff can speak reasonable English and very helpful. Particularly, one male staff member (has lived in Bundaberg and Cairns, Australia) who suggested day trips writing down for us trains to catch and which stations to alight. Breakfast is an additional charge of 1,080 yen (approx AUS$13.50), offering English (including cereal, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, toast etc) and Japanese food. The only criticism I have is they didn't offer fresh fruit, only canned fruit salad. Previous hotels have all offered some fresh fruit such as slices of kiwi fruit, banana and orange.

We really loved our stay here! The staff is very nice, the room was spacious and very clean, the location was convenient - one stop by subway from Kyoto station and the stop is right next to the hotel and quiet. There's a 7-11 right across the street and the price is super fair. Would definitely stay here again!
