We had been advised by a friend that visit to Hiroshima was well worthwhile. As our travel plans included a Japan Rail pass for the week we decided to go from Osaka by the bullet train to Hiroshima on Easter Sunday. The pass also included for tour buses round three routes to show travellers the city and you could hop on and off at leisure. We went straight to the Peace Park. The weather was beautiful and the Cherry Blossom in full flower - this is most certainly a place I think anyone should visit. It was very poignant, particularly being Easter Sunday, my wife and I sat and had our lunch in the sunshine just in front of the fountain - it was so memorable and touching to think of the devastation which was caused at this place and to see it now as a beautiful memorial to all those lost soles.
