It's a bit hard to find- it's in a strip mall that doesn't face the road. But make the effort and you will find true thin-crust pizza, with a hint of wood smoke in the flavor and a good balance of crunchy and chewy. We only tried two pizzas in Hangzhou (the other one was at Mercato Piccolo), and it wasn't even a compettion- Angelo's outclassed Mercato in every way- the crust (mercado was nearly an inch thick, and not because it was a pan or deep dish pizza- they just had too much yeast and let it rise too long), sauce (angelo's more simple and with the freshness of the tomato coming through), and cheese (better proportion- probably because Mercato's crust was so thick). We also had a pasta- the flavor was bold and compelling, though the pasta might have been a tad (just a tad) overcooked. Still, this was the sort of meal you walk away very pleased from. Very Italian in the middle of Hangzhou! Our waiter told us the owner had lived in Milan for many years. The pizza actually reminded us of one we had in Bellagio (Lake Como, north of Milan) a few years prior.

The service was amazing- they were clearly understaffed, but hustled around to make sure everyone was taken care of in a custom way (they asked a lot of questions when we wanted to change some menu items and gave some suggestions which we ended up appreciating very much). They also helped us hail a cab- actually walking out into the street to get one for us when all the apps they tried didn't yield results. If you are in the mood for Italian food, come here....you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I went to Angelo's one Monday afternoon. It was a bit difficult to find and the streets were swarming with people. However Angelo's was deadly quiet with only one other table of people. I had a cappuccino, the pasta Alfredo and a Quattro stagioni pizza. My wife had a margarita and the veal. We also ordered desserts but they only had 2 desserts available, a pannacotta and ice cream. The pannacotta was good but extremely small in portion size, and the ice cream was not good, it tasted like metal.
Overall our service was excellent and the food was good but there were a lot of items on the menu we wanted to order that they didn't have, which is a massive problem in China. We believe if it's on your menu you should have it, especially if you are not busy at all and it is still early in the day.
