Gabrielle, my wife, and I stayed as part of a wonderful Wendy Wu tour loved it there. The waterfall effect, every night at 8.30 was amazing. The whole of one side of the hotel is cascaded with water, lights, music and fountains. The food is good and the rooms are nice. Location is great and just round the corner is a lively street with restaurants, bars, street food stalls and shops. A great evenings entertainment.

A large hotel ideally situated for the river and key sites. Our river view room overlooked not only the river but the lake with two pagodas and the karst hills beyond. We were upgraded to an exec suite so had lots of space. Well equipped bathroom, etc. Safe and free wifi. Breakfasts were good but short on fresh fruit to our taste, and the coffee is poor. Noodle soup was good.
Yes they hold a waterfall celebration at about 8.30 each evening when one side of the hotel is turned into a massive waterfall - a tourist attraction although a little strange.
Frequented by western and Chinese tourists.

This is a very good hotel - centrally located close to both shopping and the main attractions.
Check in was easy and effecient and the room was spacious and well appointed.
Internet is free if not a little slow at times.
The waterfall show at 8.30pm every evening is lovely and worth going to see - its at rear of the hotel, go a little before to get a good spot.
Overall I loved my stay but the hotel is looking a little scruffy in a few places and could do with a facelift - it gives an image of grandure once but lost.

This hotel is located on a very nice location. Interesting because this city is a top attraction for Chinese. When you leave the hotel take left and go into the pedestrian street, where you will find the Chinese shops and restaurants. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was OK, but not outstanding with poor service. All by all I recommend this place because it's location, the scenery and the rooms.

We were surprised by the size of he hotel. Nevertheless, the room was very comfortable and clean with good bathroom toiletries. The breakfast was very busy even though the hotel had two dining rooms. The hotel's situation is another plus as it is in front of the lake so that the Golden and Silver Pagodas can be seen from the hotel. Guilin's main square is behind the hotel and there are some good shops very close to the hotel. The walk around the lake is a must, so that the two pagodas can be seen from all angles and lit up in the evening. There is also an enchanting glass bridge that changes colour very few minutes. All this made us want to stay longer in Quilin but alas we had leave the following morning.
