Description: Established in august 2006 in Guangzhou, Buongiorno Italian Restaurants is dedicated to bringing unique Italian flavours to the hearth of China. We are driven by passion, guided by tradition, rewarded by guest satisfaction. Our dishes are prepared with ingredients of the highest quality in a just balance of flavours. We strive for Excellent Taste. Therefore our Executive Chef Massimo Canzian personally sources, selects and utilises Prime Ingredients, most of them imported. We use pasta from Gragnano, Carnaroli rice, cold cuts and cheese from Italy, beef and lamb from Argentina or Australia, seafood from the Mediterranean Area and only from selected local fishermen. Italian Cuisine is our passion and we aim to transmit that through our dishes.

“authentic italian restaurant but not of top quality”
Reviewed 31 March 2012

When we came here for lunch, there wasn't a single chinese customer. A few tables were italians and 1 table was americans. Food was decent and authentic. More of a mom and pop italian joint quality than of a fancy italian restaurant in Italy. Portions of appetizers were on the large side and probably should have been shared. Even though the cooking was authentic italian, a few things really bothered me:

The steak knife was probably the worst steak knife i've EVER used. Luckily, the steak was very tender so I was able to cut it with relatively little effort. If it was average quality steak (not only in China, but in US or Italy), there was no way I could've cut the steak with that knife.

The bottles containing the olive oil and the vinegar on the table were leaking so bad that I had my hands all messed up after the salad. As it's china, i sucked it up and didn't complain about that.

The strangest thing of all was the salt and pepper bottles on the table. Not only did they mixed up the salt and pepper bottles. It was WHITE pepper powder like in a chinese restaurant!!! That was the first time I've ever seen anything like that in a non chinese establishment.

Disregarding the various peculiarities, the food in buorgiorno is quite up to standard for an italian restaurant in china. Probably one of the best italian restaurants in guangzhou.

The quality of the food is good and the Italian pasta is fantastic! The chief of the restaurant (an italian guy) is very polite and he provide me for free a good limoncello after the dinner!
If you want to eat a good italian foo in guagzhou try this restaurant! Word from an Italian!

“Not worth the high prices”
Reviewed 14 February 2012

The food and wine menus are good, the food was good quality but the flavours did not really appeal to me. I have had better Italian at much lower prices than this.

“Close your eyes .... No you're still in China !!!”
Reviewed 18 October 2011

We came here for a bit of a treat for some Chinese colleagues who had never travelled to Europe !

So the whole knives and forks thing was totally new to them

The mixed antipasti was superb - the wine good but expensive and the Tiramisu wonderful

As an Italian restaurant it was very good but expensive - as a European experience for the Chinese - superb !
