I've stayed in some crappy places in Saudi, but this is by far the best. The clerk allowed me to check in at 5 am without charging me the for that night. The room was comfortable and clean. Albeit not the most up to date, but that doesn't matter in Medinah. what does matter is that it is clean, inexpensive and ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE HARAM. I went there upon recommendation from my Mom who stayed there before. Then I went and asked the hotels directly across and next to it, they were at least 100 riyal more expensive. Wireless internet in the lobby and prompt helpful (and angry looking) staff are willing to help you find anything you need in the area.
The 2nd time I went, the room was a little disheveled, the mini-fridge was in disrepair and the bathroom had a bit of a smell. They let you see the room before-hand so if i was staying longer than one night and wasn't so lazy/tired from my Umrah, I would have asked for a different room.
