I'll say no one will suggest or forbid to shop from such bazar as everyone pass by it to approach Harram. Stall keepers know language of potential buyers and have almost all stuff to distract people from actual purpose of being there specifically ladies, gifts, perfume, clothes, toys, fruits etc a long list of items available at bargain price.

In one of the old bazaar madinahmain streets of the city, leading to the Prophet Mosque, you will find an extremely busy and crowded but really amazing place: The Old Bazaar. Between the shouting salesmen and packed stalls you can buy a wide variety of typical Arabian products. It’s a great place to souvenir hunting. Your visit to Madinah would not be complete if you have not been here!

The Bazaar actually is one big market, with all kinds of Arabian products and many highly motivated salesmen. The vendors offer everything you could possibly imagine. To help you choose, we have listed the 5 most popular souvenirs bought in Madinah

you can have really brand products and perfumes with high discount rates during high seasons. it is worth a visit but don't let it discharge you from the real reason of your visit to Madina, it is really a big trap, try to avoid, Prayers come number 1

huge construction, redevelopment and major expansion of the Madina Mosque and new blocks of hotels adjoining the mosque has pushed the bazaars and souks of Madina to the outskirts. these developments have brought in new airconditioned arcades and shopping centres that have lost the old country feel.
However, if you are searching for the old style markets and souk feel, the ones where the dust is gritting in your breath, the ones where you are heading into the next stall just to find relief from the scorching sun, the ones where you find cheap chinese knock offs and fake brands, the ones where the supermarkets are shower cubical sized, then you have to now head out side of the first ring road. This ring road is probably going to be your boundary between modern hotels and yester-year dust buckets.
Once there, though, you are bound to find the cheap food stalls, try them- theyre not bad.
Lots of wholesale/ bulk stores where if you buy more that 3 of the same items, you can negotiate dep cut discounts. Trinket stores, clothing shops, cheap abaya shops, and the odd doctors office, a much smaller mosque or two. Laundry facilities and tailors are more accessible. Islamic book shops and bakeries specializing in breads are more common, as are fruit shops.
enjoy these markets, they are on the chopping blocks.....
