Nice hotel - 4 star is a push in my opinion - but excellent location if you like to be within walking distance of attractions and museums. Staff were pleasant - pricing in restaurant too high but there are nice places outside the hotel within a few minutes walk.

What made our trip really memorable was the excellent Front Desk; We are seasoned travelers and can honestly say that this was the most friendly, helpful, efficient and professional front desk anywhere in the world.

Apart from that, this is a modern hotel, with a rather naff decoration;we had 2 rooms, one big, the other very big; location was good, with a 15-20 min walk to the Marinsky Theatre in one direction and 10-15 min to Nevsky Prospect in the other direction. There is free wireless internet on the 6th and 1st (i.e. ground) floor, and paid, wired internet in the room, but I sat at the chair in the corridor outside my room and got signal!

And if you want a change of scene at breakfast, around the corner on Balshaya Morskaya 45, there is an excellent restaurant, Teplo, which opens at 9 am during the week. For lunch and dinner it is open everyday, but reservations are essential, as it was always full when we went.

I stayed at the St Petersburg Baltic Hotel during my visit to Russia with my dad in June 2008. The hotel is right next to the St. Issac's cathedral, very much in the centre of Old St. Petersburg. The hotel is modern, they display a lot of modern artwork and paintings made by local artists around the lobby and coffee shop that you can buy if you like. The staff are very friendly and helpful, I even got to speak to the Rooms Div. Manager one day while she was at the Desk and really appreciate her effort to make friendly conversation with hotel guests. Another thing I really loved about the hotel was that they had these lovely chocolates in a bowl at the front desk and they encourage you to pick some up whenever u pass by, I thought that was a very nice guesture. They also have live instrumental music in the evening in the Lobby and you could sit there for hours just listening to them play. One night it was the Piano, the next the Harp and then Violin and then Guitare....

The hotel is very centrally located and you can walk to a lot of places of interest including the Hermitage. During our stay, they had this tie up with Hermitage and if you showed your keycard at the enterance of the Hermitage, you could get into an express line....we could see almost a 200 people line at the museum and were relieved that we could bypass that. The staff at the Front Desk are very helpful in advicing you of the sites you can see, timings of the attractions and even mark out the routes for you to walk to each site. We stayed at this hotel for a week and I definitely recommend it to everyone visiting St. Petersburg.

I love this hotel which is very contemporary, full of light and has a good location in the centre of the city. We didn't use taxi in the evening walking throught this beautiful city I really like. The coffee in the lobby bar is majestic and will make you enjoy this business morning. I would like to come back some day.

The Hotel is not bad, quite small, close to the hearth of S. Pet., people is kind and avaialble. rooms are quite small and not really nice, breakfast is normal and quite rich. Price is quite good if we consider tha S. Pet is an expensive city. I did not tried the restaurant.
