A nice pedestrian street in heart of the city, one of the must-see places in Arkhangelsk. Wood houses propose a number of restaurents and coffee houses

We took a nice walk along this pedestrian boulevard. We had a beautiful sunny day and Russians were strolling as well. I met pensioners enjoying themselves on benches, a mother with newborn twins in a pram, and tourists of course.

It is hard to tell the stage of development of this street. Some houses are nicely restored; others seem halted midstream. One hopes that the street and its buildings will continue to experience restoration and good maintenance. These surviving traditional timber houses are charmers and will bring tourists to Arkhangelsk for years to come.

The old homes which have been there for many, many years are very interesting architecture. Along with that, there is a new 'mall' plus a few local craft vendors on the street. English was not a problem.

If you managed to get to Arkhangelsk, then this is "must to visit" place for sure. 20 minutes of walk and look around will bring you pleasure till the end of a day. In case not, please be the first to critisize me.

Take a few minutes to slow down and join the locals strolling down this pedestrian only street and enjoy great examples of wooden architecture that Arkhangelsk is famous for! Great restaraunt choices as well!
