and one of the most helpful and important stuff from the hotel is city map. I find it very useful and the best city map for moscow.

My wife and I recently spent 3 nights at the Kempinski Moscow and were thoroughly impressed. We reserved a deluxe room at 18,400 rubles ($624) per night, and were upgraded when we arrived to a studio suite.

From our perspective, the two best attributes of the Kempinski are first, the location near Red Square, the Kremlin, and St. Basil’s Cathedral – the hotel is a five-minute walk across the Moscow River from these sights. Second, there are the astounding views of these sights from the hotel. Several other luxury hotels in town claim to have “views of Red Square.” Having personally compared the views from the Kempinski, the Ritz-Carlton, and the National, the Kempinski is the clear winner. Furtheremore, given the layout of the city, it is impossible for rooms at the Metropole or Ararat Hyatt to match the Kempinski. Any room at the Kempinski facing the Moscow River allows an unobstructed view of St. Basil’s, the Kremlin, and into Red Square. If one of your priorities in visiting Moscow is great views of the central Moscow sights, this hotel is the best choice.

Beyond the location and views, the service was courteous and professional, as one would expect at a luxury hotel. Our transfers to and from the airport were flawless. We were consistently addressed by name by the staff.

The fourth floor corner suite we had was quite spacious (approximately 750 sq. ft.), and was quiet in spite of the road running between the building and the river. The bed was not as plush as some we’ve experienced (the “Heavenly Bed” at Westin properties comes to mind as an exemplary bed), but the Kempinski’s offering was certainly adequate.

The fitness center had an array of cardio machines, TechnoGym weight machines, as well as free weights. We did not dine at the hotel restaurants.

Overall, while the hotel was expensive (as is seemingly everything in Moscow), we were thoroughly impressed with the Kempinski and would recommend it highly.

Room Tip: Reserve a room on the side of the hotel facing the Moscow River for the best views in town of the Re...

Very good hotel for a business traveller but close enough to Red Square for it also to be attractive for the tourist. The room was very comfortable and the food in the restaurant was excellent. The staff all spoke very good English.
