we checked in 7:30pm
before we checked in to our room, we have to wait 5-10minutes.they have to check the room first. wtf??? its evening they must prepare the room already given that we booked online and indicated late arrival.

as we enter the room incomplete things:
1. no towels
2. only 1 soap
we have to wait another 10 minutes for the towels and soap

we have a flight to catch on the following day, guess what! no water running!!!
they have to fix the pipe and we need to wait 15mins. we have waited 20-25minutes!
not going back here! its like an inn or pension house, definitely not a hotel experience. hope the owner can read this.

Dear Mary F,

Thank you for reviewing our hotel on TripAdvisor.

We would like to apologize for the problems you experienced when checking in to our hotel. It is standard procedure to check the room first before letting the guest enter the room, no matter what time of the day or night he checks in.

However, that there were no towels and only 1 bar of soap in your room even after the room was checked is unacceptable, and we have reprimanded the hotel staff who were in charge of cleaning and checking your room.

We are also sorry that the water ran out when you were taking a bath on the day of your check out. We sometimes run out of water when our hotel is fully booked. But that is a temporary situation that only happens once in a blue moon, when all our guests are taking a bath at the exact same time.

Rest assured that our general manager has been informed of your experience,

Thank you very much,

The Maxwell Hotel Management

Just spent 2 weeks at the Maxwell and was impressed with the overall cleanliness and friendliness of the helpful staff. The hotel has no doubt seen better days, but most of the rooms are more than adequate size with good ensuites ,desks and power outlets. They provide soap and shampoo, but no coffee or tea facilities or mini bar. However,Starbucks and Macdonalds are just across the road with a pedestrian bridge to avoid the constant traffic .The breakfast is just fair if it's included in the cost, but better choices outside otherwise. Plenty of eateries nearby and Ayala shopping centre is only a ten minute walk or $2 in a taxi.
It's not flash, but for the money it's clean, comfortable and convenient.

Dear spikem49129,

Thank you for staying two weeks at our hotel. We are glad you found our hotel clean, our staff friendly and helpful, and our rooms adequately sized and furnished.

Our central location is one of the things guests love most about our hotel. Popular fast food restaurants and coffee shops are located nearby. There are plenty of breakfast places too for those who prefer to pass on our hotel breakfast.

Like you mentioned, we seek to provide a budget accommodation that is clean, comfortable, and convenient.

Thank you very much,

The Maxwell Hotel Management

We booked our room through Agoda which we got it cheaper than their tariff rate. The Superior Room has really nice comfortable bed, they also have a nice desk, huge closet, the shower is too hot even on the lowest level, the pillows aren't that comfortable but it will do. What I'm only dissatisfied is the weird placement of the TV at room 219. It would be more awesome if they have breakfast offered. But that wouldn't be a case since there are Jollibee at McDonald's located nearby.

Dear GianJamesMags,

Thank you so much for giving us four stars on TripAdvisor. It's nice that you found a good room rate on Agoda.

We're glad that you found everything in your hotel room good, aside from the pillows and the weird placement of the TV.

We offer rooms without breakfast through online travel agents, but we do offer a with-breakfast option on our hotel website. Still, most guests will still choose to have breakfast outside, to save on expenses.

Thank you very much,

We were able to avail of their 50% off Christmas promo. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Rooms with wifi connection, average internet speed. Great location, walking distance to most of the restaurants and shops. For the lechon lovers there is a lechon store/restaurant in the hotel's ground floor.

Dear MSCRob,

Thank you for giving us four stars on TripAdvisor!

It's nice you were able to book our 50% off Christmas promo. We're glad you found our rooms clean, our beds comfortable, and our internet speed satisfactory.

Truly, our location is one of the main reasons guests book our hotel. And, of course, the Lechon Belly restaurant in our lobby, open 24-hours a day.

Thank you very much,

The room was nicely presented and the staff were welcoming
I would recommend this motel on price
Breakfast is a definite no as it came in a cardboard box and was litterally inedible
But do not dispear my fellow travelers
20 metres up the road is a complex full of eateries serving delicious food

Dear John R,

Thank you so much for the four-star review!

We are glad you find our hotel fairly priced, our rooms presented nicely, and our staff welcoming.

We apologize for the hotel breakfast that was presented in an inedible fashion. We have raised this concern to the general manager. Now, our hotel breakfast is served at the Kana Restaurant, at the ground floor of our hotel. The food is good and the presentation is excellent.

Like you mentioned, our hotel is located within walking distance of plenty of restaurants where you can enjoy a good breakfast, including a Jollibee and McDonald's.

Thank you very much.
