The hotel is sufficiently located close to the Ayala business district, within walking distance of a famous local pizza restaurant, and about a short jeepney ride from the provincial capitol.

It has a nice clean look from the exterior, a small gravel driveway (just enough to fit three vehicles for a group drop-off, and basement parking.

Inside, one gets greeted to a homely front desk, a living room on the left, a children's playpen further in, a ping-pong table, and a cafeteria at the end of the hall. The staff are prompt and courteous, and check-in time is anytime once the room is available. I myself checked-in at 8am since I arrived at 630am.

I was given a 5th floor room, and almost dreaded it until I saw the elevator doors opening and a hotel staff beckoning me inside. The room was simple, the bed, pillow, mattresses, sheets. The walls are painted purple. It was spacious, able to fit a small family inside. The bathroom/toilet is equally spacious, closet space is huge, and has a small safety box. There is provision for towels, toilet paper, and a tiny soap, but not much else. You have to bring your own shampoo, toothpaste, and tooth brush.

One thing I dislike about the hotel, or probably Cebu in general, is the quality of the water coming from the taps. It is hard water and a tad salty. Meaning, it takes quite a while to make the soap bubble, and after rinsing, you still get a sticky feel to the skin. This is no fault of the hotel, blame it on the city's water treatment facility.

The room also had a small balcony, but being beside the main road, the chairs and tables outside have gathered dust and obviously weren't given attention by housekeeping. All areas within the hotel premises are no smoking, so even at the balcony, there are clear signs that prohibits smoking, so don't expect an ashtray anywhere. Although there is a tiny space for guests to smoke at the front porch.

All over the hotel one gets to read inspirational quotes from the Dalai Lama, the Pope, or any historical figure who made some inspirational remark. This gives a very uplifting mood to anyone who stays in the hotel. It allows you to reflect, albeit a moment, especially when one is on a a stressful business trip.

What with all these messages, coupled with environmental , cultural, and pycho-sociological advocacy information splashed all around, one gets the message that the hotel owners are really serious about their advocacies. So don't expect that you can bring in a lady escort in the middle of the night, because the hotel is also active in monitoring human trafficking.

Which is good news for families that stay for a weekend stay-cation. There are plenty of activities for kids, aside from the playpen and the ping-pong table; there is also a 30-ft wall for climbing, and a library filled with pretty good titles.

The cafeteria serves food, they also have room service. For the price, I'd say it's worth it. They give generous portions per serving, and one meal would fill even a hungry teenager.

Over-all, the hotel is great, just don't expect a 5-star treatment. For its class, I'd say that this hotel gives one value for money.

Room Tip: Pick the rooms on the higher floors, as these will be free from noises coming from the busy streets below.

I stayed for a night in this hotel and I was very satisfied. I had a 4am flight from manila and arrived very early in cebu. The location is great. It is within the city proper. They allowed me to check in as soon as I arrived at the hotel. So, I was able to sleep and freshen up before my conference. The staff entertained all my queries especially concerns about directions and schedule of masses, and jeepney routes around the city and even printed my boarding pass for free. I was able to walk to the Ayala mall from this hotel. They are very conscious and protective of our environment and I like that very much. They have free soap and towel in the room and a water dispenser near the elevator. That's fine with me since I bring my own toiletries anyway. Overall, I had a wonderful and relaxing stay.

West Gorordo Hotel is conveniently located a walking distance to Ayala Mall where almost everything you need in Cebu City can be found. The rooms have plenty of choices depending on the number of occupants you want to reserve for. The one I had on the 4th floor has a queen bed and a single bed but is big enough to not feel crowded inside. Sheets are clean and made up everyday upon request. The staffs are friendly and courteous and will attend to your needs when asked. The restaurant is conveniently located on the ground floor and affordable as well and their choices are mostly healthy. The one thing I like in this hotel is their support for preventing human trafficking which is very rampant in the Philippines. There are only a few hotels in Cebu City that participate in this cause. This participation means that every guest is guaranteed that they are sleeping without any guilt and doubt of such activities going on next door.
This hotel is also active on recycling which is rare for this kind of business in the city but is good for the environment.

The Wi-Fi connection, however, needs some improvements and the dining room could use some air conditioning for a comfortable dining experience. Exercise equipments also need some upgrades.

I would recommend this hotel for travelers who are budget conscious and mostly to those who are concern about human trafficking around the world.

Room Tip: The rooms on the west side facing QC Pavillion building are quieter.

I was very impressed with this hotels bargain rates and especially pleased at the location so near to my favorite mall: Ayala with all of its shops and restaurants. The staff here, and I mean everyone, was so friendly and pleasant. Always a smile and a, "Good morning, sir." The layout inside was very spacious. I loved the lobby and the restaurant was very nice too. The room I had was small but good enough to sleep and watch cable TV in. Everything was remarkably clean and sanitary.

The only downside was that they do not allow ANY visitors in your room. If you are meeting a friend and want to take them up to your room to visit or watch TV -- no way.

The wifi did not work in the room I had on the 3rd floor, but it's ok in the lobby or restaurant area. This is a very friendly and clean budget hotel. Everyone was so nice.
