This hotel was recommended by a business associate. The room was comfortable and reasonably priced too. It is about 20 min from the airport. The hotel is about 5 min drive from Mall of Asia and there are a wide variety of restaurants within 15 min walking radius. The hotel is always busy as locals and tourists frequent the casino located at the lobby.

I visited the Midas for a meal and to have a look around.
The Rooms were well set out and very neat clean and roomy.
The meal was enjoyable. I ate at the bistro near the Casino area.
The variety was limited however had I have gone to the Restaurant no doubt it would have been better.

The hotel (this is my fourth visit in as many years) is really starting to fray at the edges, and looks tired and worn out. Initially I was on the 10th floor in an executive room, but as it was nearly impossible to get in and out of the shower in the bath - (who designs these dangerous contraptions), on the first day the grab handle came off, as it was not secured to the bath wall, and this nearly caused a fall. When asked if they had any rooms with just a shower, I was informed that they only had three of those and all were occupied. Finally, after three days one became vacant which turned out to be a disabled room on the third floor, different toiletries of a much lower quality, even the towels seemed to be different - but of course the same room rate for the next 7 nights. Unfortunately also the wardrobe had no coat-hangers, and after several phone calls and waiting for over 90 minutes, finally someone arrived with 6 plastic hangers and wanted a signature for these - after refusing them and arguing the point they finally relented and arrived with 5 wooden ones. Then had to call again for assistance to get the curtains rehung so that they would close. Two days later an early morning reminder call never arrived, and as there are no clocks in the rooms, missed an early morning work appointment.
Fortunately the hotel has some wonderful staff, every morning with a friendly greeting from the entire breakfast crew, always ready with an espresso coffee for me, that had to be collected from 2 floors down, as the restaurants machine was out of order. The security and concierge staff were also more than approachable and always had a friendly smile and greeting, as did the front desk, who were most apologetic about the missed call. Special mention however must go to Claudyn, my room attendant who tried to make my tired and worn out room as pleasant as she could, and always had it ready for my return from breakfast, including little personalised notes, wishing me a happy stay. So the hotel has slipped to a mediocre 3star standard, but the staff are well above this.

Nice amenities though wish they had a pool. Has a nice restaurant, wonderful buffet breakfast, small casino and decent gym. Clean, a bit aged but still in nice condition, friendly professional staff. Need to bring cash deposit or credit card for deposit of 10k. Use Grab car for outings because they are affordable. Hotel has free shuttle service to Mall of Asia, takes like 6 or 7 minutes. Close by (walking 5 minutes) Burger King, Mercury Drug, Chow King and Jollibee. 15 or 20 minutes from airport. Comfortable beds and bathtubs in room. Good selection of channels on television. Room services include plenty of towels, water, tea and coffee all free. Room service menu is decent with middle prices of 300 to 450 per meal. Stayed at Midas two times and plan to go back again.

Room Tip: Go up on a higher floor, 717, 817, 917 etc... are nice corner rooms with a balcony overlooking Manila Bay and facing Mall of Asia.
