This is not our first visit to a Manila hotel, and I can’t really recommend this option.
Located in what seems to be a basic and unusual-for-such-a-hotel area, some taxi drivers struggled to find it!
Although the photos make it seem super, the real thing was a bit of a let-down.
Our room had wallpaper peeling at the edges, and ill-fitting windows that didn’t keep the noise out and let the heat in!
The bathroom might be good, but stained grout and an old shower curtain did it no favours.
Breakfast was disappointing, (sorry sir, you can only have sausage OR bacon, but not both!) and a second small cup of coffee will involve some waving. Portions were carefully restricted.
Our shuttle to the airport request was originally quoted at 350 pesos. On attempting to confirm later, it mysteriously became 950, which was just a rip-off!
Eventually, we paid a private cab driver just over 400, which was acceptable, but still perhaps double the charge for a local. Be aware.
I had to request a second loo roll (really) and the kettle needed replacing as it didn’t work. That took almost half an hour, and is not good enough.
We shall return to the city.
