Heartfelt kindness from a good safe bed and breakfast. The owner kept saying its an old house...a simple house...but really its a modernized country home complete with thought out activities for a relaxing stay. Driftwood benches...to view mountaintip sunset...firepit for smores...boardgames in their communal entertainment area complete with foosball and I think a snookie table or billiard table...a book or two stashed around...it is as expected adorable and inspirational...they were right...the place spells out happy to its last brick

My friends just arrived from Baguio this afternoon and boy, did we have fun! Thanks to Lucia's B&B owner, Lucille, manager Katy, chef Emerson and the rest of the staff this is one of our trips (with my women barkada) that we will never forget. Everything said by other reviewers about Lucia's with its beautiful quaintness are all true! The carefully thought of decorations in the B&B, the splash of different colors inside the house, the garden and the wonderful breakfasts that continued to surprise us made our vacay truly wonderful. What made it even better are the gracious hosts/hostesses who were always there to assist us and give us tips of restaurants that we have never been to before - Foggy Mountain, Father's Daughter and Eve's Garden, the last one we were not able to go to as this was booked up to the day we left. Lucia's staff were honest too. My friend left a jacket in the house and they found it for us!

We were also lucky that there were no other guests so we had the whole ground floor to ourselves, yes! I imagine, however, that if the ground floor was full it would be a bit noisy. Lights are subdued which made it cozy and homey but sometimes it can feel eerie especially in the evening. The shower in the toilet near our rooms was tricky too and good thing, we were allowed to use another shower in a nearby room.

Good luck, Lucille, Katy and Emerson on your business! We pray that Lucia's will continue to thrive and grow.

Thanks for everything!

This isn't a hotel but a house with rooms. It's home away from home...minus the TV. A place to relax and catch up on other hobbies like reading, drawing, or painting. Unlike in a hotel, you don't have to be cooped up in your room since you can hang out in their sala or dining area.
The host and staff are very hospitable and accommodating. Sadly though they only offer breakfast with your accommodation. (Such a yummy breakfast too!) You need to go out for lunch and dinner to eat.

Long review for those interested :)

Reservation: Contacted the BB using the number on their FB page. Texted in the morning but there was no reply. Followed-up by another text in the afternoon and was replied immediately. Person apologized since they were busy preparing brunch. After replying the availability of the room, I called to confirm and payment details was given. They asked for I think about 80% deposit for the room which was a surprised but since the rate of the room is not that high, it was okay. Made the deposit to a local bank and emailed the deposit slip. About a week before our trip, they emailed and texted me to remind about the reservation and asked about food restriction.

Location: About 5-10 minutes away from the Victory Liner Station. Near Teacher's Camp and Botanical Garden. Off the main road but still near and easily walk-able if you need to get a taxi/jeepney. No problem directing the taxi drivers - we usually just said Leonard Woods Navy Base Extension. No problem getting a taxi either. There are plenty in Baguio.

Across the front of the house is a school but it is still quiet since the rooms are located at the back. We hardly heard any noise and if we did, only in the morning when going out. The area is very quiet, peaceful and still had that old Baguio vibe. It was already April (summer) and we still felt the cool air especially at night - maybe because the area was not too crowded and there were plenty of trees around.

House/Room : The house is big and situated in a sloping lot. The upper part of the house is private while the 2 floors below has the guest rooms. They have 7 rooms; 4 in the ground floor, 3 on the 2nd floor. Each floor has a common kitchen and sala that one can use. On the ground floor are the mini pool table and foos table.

We stayed at the Love room on the 2nd floor. It was big; 2 king beds, 1 small table, 1 chair and they added 2 extra mattress/bed since there were 6 of us. The mattresses were really thick and they have these lovely quilted blankets which was perfect for the cold weather. They provided 2 large pillows on each bed. The linens felt clean and smelled nice. No aircon, only a ceiling fan but even then we didn't need it at night because the cold air coming from the large windows was more than enough.

They provided shampoo, soap and towels. No toothpaste. The bathroom was a bit small with a little counter space. The flush on the toilet was strong. There was hot and cold water but it took us a while to figure out hot to turn on the hot shower. Better ask the manager how its done. The drain in the shower was a bit slow. They provided bath mat but it might be best not to use it. After 6 people, the mat was dripping wet and there was no place to hang it dry. Since it is a BB, they don't clean the room daily. Bring bathroom slippers.

No TV but free WiFi.

They have water dispensers which you can get water. You can use the refrigerator, microwave, plates, glasses and utensils in the kitchen. The last day we were there, it was raining and we decided to just eat in.

There are plenty of magazines and game boards for the kids. However one of the best things we did was have a bonfire. They have a special set up for the bonfire pit and even sell the ingredients for s'mores (graham crackers, marshmallow, chocolate) and gave the sticks for it. The bonfire set up was free :) First time niece and nephew experienced one and they were really happy and excited.

Had to give a special shout out for the breakfast. Really good. Kuya Emerson is the chef and he really tries to make everything organic and fresh. Even the dressing on our side salad was made from scratch. Our first day we had chicken tortilla. The tortilla was also made from scratch and had local vegetables incorporated. Impressed my mom (who by the way, is really critical of food). The second day we had empanada with ground meat. Everything really tasted good. Too good that we wanted more :D We didn't include my 4 year old nephew for the breakfast since he usually drinks milk in the morning but Emerson was kind enough to give a special breakfast for him. My nephew loved it.

They serve breakfast either in the kitchen or in the garden which was whimsically designed with hanging ivy/flowers, cute knickknacks and different colored chair covers. A lovely way to start the day.

Breakfast is only for their guests.

Ms. Cathy, the manager, was really kind and helpful. She has made us feel really welcomed as if the BB was our home. We were a bit early arriving in Baguio and asked for early check in. Unfortunately the room was still occupied but as soon as it was cleaned and available, they allowed us to check in early.

There is no 24 hour reception area. But Ms. Cathy is usually available during the day and early evening. They have a helper that you can also ask for help.

Kuya Emerson was kind and helpful as well. He would chat with us for a while during breakfast and explain what was being served. He was also the one who set us the bonfire.

I can't recall if there was a curfew but usually they would ask what time you will be back so that someone can open the gate for you.

Very affordable. There were 6 of us and I think we paid P6200 per night which included breakfast.

The house, area, room were all lovely. Shabby chic or Instagram worthy is an apt description. Excellent and unique breakfast. Friendly staff. Very quiet. Would not hesitate to come again and stay here.
