Went diving with the Coiba Dive Center in Santa Catalina ( Panama ) last week to complete my open water PADI certification. My instructor (Julie) was really knowledgeable & sweet. I got a top of the line course...actually better than I expected (I heard a few stories of people going down south to complete their certification...well that's the thing they didn't really complete it..they went diving, didn't do the excises and got their cards!!). I would definitely recommend them.
We went for 4 dives on a period of 2 days. We saw whale sharks twice...wow!!! We also saw a school of approx 150 mantha rays go by...whoa...!!
Saw many white tip sharks, turtles and other...lots of big fish as they had promised...they cant promise a whale shark sighting but wow...we got really lucky!!
My friend had a camera..here are a few pics

Did a 3 day dive package, staying at Coiba 2 nights with Coiba Dive Center. The husband and wife team at CDC did a fantastic job and are very knowledgable about the area, diving, and marine life.
As for the diving it was kind of repitive after a while, and the comment that it is the next Galapagos is quite misleading. On just about everydive we saw white-tips. Anywhere from 2 to over 20. That was pretty much it for large sealife. None of the dives were Bad, but nothing really mind blowing. Some of the dives were difficult due to heavy currents and there is a layer called the thermocline on most dives that gives about 10 degress colder. a 5mm full body wetsuit is an absolute must.
It is pretty dificult to get to Coiba, which has made Santa Catalina pretty uncrowded. So if you are looking to get away from it all, that can be done here. Other reviews about the accomodation on Coiba are exaggerated. It is not that bad and there is air-conditioning at night in the bed room.
