Our family with 3 student-age youngsters stayed 3 nights in this clean, white and blue hotel not far from the beach. We appreciated the warm welcome of Marie, the attentive Belgian owner and her competent staff. We enjoyed the breakfasts with fresh orange juice and crêpes on the beautiful patio, and slept very wel in this calm neighbourhood.
Rooms are simple, but that's what we appreciate (no need for TV during holidays ... internet is correct, near the central patio).
Very good price/quality ratio. We strongly recommend !
We booked the penthouse and a double room for a party of 6 for two nights in Sidi Kabuki at Hotel Villa Soleil and we all loved it! Marie was super nice from the outset, very helpful and kind and so was her son Adrien and the staff. Adrien helped us find good places to eat at. The beach is 2 mins walk just across Hotel Villa Soleil. We were spoilt for breakfast and Marie was once again very accommodating. The rooms are clean and very nicely decorated. We'll definitely go back with no hesitation! Thank you all.
Merci pour les compliments !
Small but nice and cosy villa. Rooms are basic, breakfast is ok.
Very close to the beach and other restaurants. Nice patio with tables and chairs.
Possible to have a beer and meals if ordered upfront. Nice location and half an hour drive away from Essaouira.
Many Thanks !
Traveling through Morocco on our honeymoon, we booked a two night stay at Villa Soleil through booking.com. It was only after checking in and moving our bags in that we were notified by the owner, Marie, that there was no hot water. But she repeatedly told us how this was "okay", I suppose to try to convince us that it was okay...
The water definitely was not hot, it was far too cold for an actual shower (but it's okay), so a good old damp wash cloth wipe down it was! And that was cold, too, okay? I imagine the cold shower may be more refreshing after spending several hours in the sun or in the warm waters of the Atlantic (but at the end of June, that ocean is cold, okay? Okay).
So we decided to cut our beach trip a day short and head up to stay in Essaouira. My husband notified Marie of this the following morning and she insisted that all of her guests are ok with cold showers. He told her it is an issue for him, so we go. She said the plumber would be there in the afternoon to repair the hot water... But my husband said, we were still going to leave. (Do I think a plumber showed up that day? No, I think that all of her previous guests are ok with having no hot water, so why would a plumber show up because one guest has an issue with it suddenly? So if you plan to stay at this hotel, maybe check prior to booking that there is hot water ... If you want hot water, that is, otherwise okay!) Again, Marie tried to persuade him otherwise and then told him that it would be issue for her because she still had to pay booking.com a 3% fee for both nights because that is what we scheduled. So my husband graciously offered to pay for the fee for both nights. What a gentleman, am I right?
Well, guess who received an email the following day from booking.com saying that our stay was modified from two nights to one night? That's right! These folks right here! I mean, is it really worth a few euro to be dishonest with your customer??
I understand the meaning and the struggle of a low season, but manipulating your customers is not the way to gain more business. Especially when the Internet is so pervasive and crucial to marketing your business - based on customer reviews, of all things!
I am embarrassed by the behavior of this family run business.
Otherwise, the actual hotel is quaint and has a lot of potential. Our room was definitely a beach bungalow and we would have gladly stayed at the property had there been hot water.
Breakfast was a little overpriced, but it was tasty. We were told that there was no other place to get breakfast in Sidi Kaouki, however there are omelets (eggs for breakfast instead of crepes might sound great after consuming crepes and jam for many mornings) on several of the menus just down the road and you will pay a fraction of the price.
The location is great, too, if you are looking to stay a short walk from the beach.
Really looking forward to a nasty and defensive retort from the property about how disillusioned we are, at least based on previous reviews and responses, and we if want hot water to go stay at a five star hotel. (Mind you we have lived in a literal shack made of sticks on the beach in Mexico for $11 pesos a night and they still managed to have hot water in their outdoor showers, so... It's hit or miss out there, and this spot was a miss this time.)
Sorry for the long review, but in this case thought it necessary. And full disclosure: I also notified booking.com
Nice and comfortable hotel. All the rooms are very clean. Hot water. Nice beds.
Maybe a little bit humidity, but you can take advantage of the courtyard with hammocks and beach chairs.
Great wi-fi in the reception and loung area only, I think is better because you can spend the hole day reading a book and enjoing the great sand beach.
I'll be back for sure.
The owner and manager is a very kind lady from Belgium, and the breackfast is very good quality food. Other meals on request only.
Otherwise Essauira is 20 min driving only.
Many thanks for the appreciation !
