Wind, wind, wind and sun... Villa Maroc is a perfectly positioned hotel just inside the wall of Medina and the promenade along the beach.
Hotels rooms are small but comfortable. You have to be quite fit to be able to clime all the narrow and steep stairs to get to all the rooms in the hotel. Definitely not suitable for young children and eldely.
Our room on the top level of the hotel had a nice patio where we usually had our breakfast. It would have been enjoyable experience if not for the cold and strong wind. Warm clothing even in the middle of Moroccan summer is a must in Essaouira.
Staff is genuanly friendly, helpful and professional.
Essaouira is a pretty city, but would not stay there more than a day or two.

Thank you for your review. Essaouira is known as a "Wind City" in summer. The kite surfers are happy! But we have a wonderful indian summer, automne and winter with no or less wind and nice temperatures. A perfect place for winter breaks. In and around Essaouira they are plenty of things to do and it worth definitely a longer stay than a day or two. Looking forward to welcoming you.

Charming hotel in an historical building preserving all its character and beauty. Very well located. Excellent breakfast.
Fatima was very nice and helpfull.
Issues to improve - pression and temperature of water in shower and some humidity smell in the rooms - don’t change the overall valuation.

After staying in so many spectacular Riads in Morocco we had a mixed impression of this one. A great central location, nice public spaces with a spectacular roof top terrace for breakfast. The room (suite) was spare and not that comfortable with a modest bathroom. Dinner was fine but we ate better in other Riads in Morocco.

A lovely calm hotel just inside the walls of the Medina. Perfect location to walk to the beach and to explore the winding streets of the Medina. Four Riads merged to make one hotel, Villa Maroc is a truly beautiful traditional Riad with stone staircases, beautiful decor and an amazing rooftop terrace where we were served a sumptuous breakfast every day.
I can truly recommend Villa Maroc.

Stayed for three nights in April. Really interesting interiors, outstanding food, and a 300 year old tree grows through the middle of it all. There are lots of interesting small rooms where they serve you dinner - intimate lighting, vibrant colours...the food was varied and great value at about £20 per head, and catered easily for my vegetarian wife.

We also did the day at their sister hotel which is further inland so warmer and less windy - price includes a full-on buffet lunch, towels etc. Much more modern vibe but worth doing for what I believe is called 'chillaxing' these days.

Essaouira is much calmer that Marrakech, and shopkeepers are happy to let you wander in and out without too much banter. Breakfast on the roof, camels on the beach and lots of cats in the courtyards...lovely.
