I had a bad experience: Dirty sheets, humidities on the wall, bad smeell. The stuff don't speak English or French. Nobody at the arrived time, we have to wait for them.
Positive way: comfortable bed, nice terrace, good location in the center of medina.

After arriving quite late at night, we found Darko surprisingly easy, even though it is hidden deep in narrow streets of Medina right in the centre of essaouira. Latifa didnt speak much english, but still more than us french or arabic, showed us our small but clean room with electricity, closet and a window to central atrium. Well cooled room didnt need A/C. Kitchen available on same floor (2nd) and a nice roof-top terrace for breakfast or chillout time (3rd).

Be aware that you will most likely have a bit of trouble finding the hotel. It's tucked away in a beautiful little part of the Medina, but a little hard to find at first. Once you get your bearings in the Medina you won't have any trouble though. You absolutely get what you pay for at this riad. And you cannot beat the prices. The bathrooms are detached from the rooms and are shared. The hotel staff is lovely and will greet you with a tea and a smile. From the roof you can see the ocean if you stand on the very tippy top. But regardless, I enjoyed laying out and reading there. I could hear the ocean and found it to be very relaxing. I was on the top floor near the main salon, my room constantly felt a little damp, but I think that is to be expected from a beach side riad without a central heating or cooling system.

Best little riad we've had the pleasure of staying in Morocco thus far. The two ladies who run this place are the nicest and sweetest ever! They speak a little English, but it was nice to communicate with them in the little French we knew. The room we got was spectacular. Our bathroom had a window that led out to the street outside so we had fresh air. Let me repeat, fresh air- coming through a window. Bathroom was interesting it wasn't walked off from the bedroom area, and the doors were swinging doors from the Wild West or something, which was neat! We ordered dinner for €5 for two ppl! Crazy cheap and super delicious, the first night we had a fish tagine with veggies and the second, a chicken tagine with veggies. The kitchen/ dining area/lounge area was super cute too! Lush couches with purple painted walls and lots of sunlight coming in from the roof. The terrace was also really nice, we enjoyed some tea some evenings up there. Definitely worth the price with what you get!! Do yourself a favor and come here! It was really easy to find and close to the medina and little shops.

I wouldn't ever again participate to parties which hotel arranges. They will make you pay a lot more than agreed or what ever was discussed they will leave out other expenses what you have to pay. It will be expensive evening if you participate... Hotel itself is fine.
