We wanted to grab a quite Indian lunch on our last day to Mauritius, but guess this had to be the the worst experience in our entire trip.
We ordered for paratha (they didn't have tandoor that day), kofta and dal first. These were fine, not great, were pre-cooked and heated for us (we were the only customers in the restaurant).
We then went for a dal makhni and plain rice. To our shock, we noticed small dead insects in the rice. We pointed it out to manager - (a shabbily dressed man who was the only staff at the restaurant today) and at first he claimed it is nothing, then he said he would replace the rice and once we refused to have any further meals there, he handed us a bill with all the items charged. Upon our request to remove the charge for the rice & dal, he first refused and then removed the charge for the rice. Still charged us for the dal makhni which we didn't consume. He even said that we should thank him for not charing VAT and then failed to give us a Tax Invoice when we said he can add the same. Card machine was also not working (at least that's what he claimed).
We felt like calling the police for such terrible service & dangerous food. Would look for online options to complain to relevant department in Mauritius.
We wanted to try a new Indian restaurant and dropped by this place, wish we had time to read more reviews. Both Zub Express & Nath's Roti are good places with better ambience, staff & food in this area.
(They seem to be a travel & car rental co by the name White Shell & also bill by the same name. So beware if they change branding and try to setup business by another name).
