Do you want to stay at an impeccable kept villa 300 metres from the beautiful beach in Flic En Flac and app 200 metres from one of the best restaurants (The Beach Shack – also reviewed by me ).
If you do, then book yourself a stay at the Villa Bleu Azur when you are going to Mauritius. Having stayed there for two weeks I can only say for sure: The pictures and other reviews are telling the truth.
The complex consists of two villas and The Residence Lagon Bleu Azur adjacent to the villa. The residence has a pool for the residents, however the villa Bleu Azur which we occupied, is a large, spacious villa, that has a private pool in a private yard making this a perfect place to relax after a day at the beach, on tour etc. A small patio facing the pool for e.g. eating breakfast, having a nightcap etc. is private and really nice. The complex and its surroundings is well kept by Ignace and Marcyee, whose reaction time when something (rarely) doesn't work, is impressive. The pool was cleaned every morning around 5 o’clock as it then would be ready when the guests woke up, as Ignace told us – brilliant.
The cleaning of the villa by Eddie, was fast and thorough, and all of them always met us with a great smile and a greeting making us feeling at home from day one.
The Villa consist of a living-/dining room with adjacent fully equipped kitchen. On the first floor is three spacious rooms with a large balcony and two bathrooms/toilets. The neighbourhood is a bit worn and does not seem to be that inviting, with several large empty grounds and a lot of dogs running around - this is seen all over Mauritius so nothings special there.
But it is a quiet part of Flic en Flac and as stated app 300 metres from the beach.
Basically, if we are going to Mauritius again, the Villa Bleu Azur are definately a place we would stay at again – and so should you.

Our family had a wonderful time in Flic en Flac, great beaches, beautiful places to visit and generally just a nice laid back kind of vibe to make it a real holiday. Our villa was fantastic, good location and the villa and surrounds were well kept by Eddy, Maryse and the friendly staff who really helped make our stay an enjoyable one, nothing was ever to much trouble. The only thing we didn't like was having to leave... Will be back again, merci beaucoup.
Staff were all friendly and helpful and spoke enough English for anyone without French to get by easily and be understood.
It is self catering, (SPAR shop was 10 mins walk away and well stocked), but Maryse who looks after the place will bring you breakfast and/or dinner if you want, (she has a menu for you to choose from) - she and her husband had local fish on the BBQ a couple of times during our stay. Having said that we ate out in some great local restaurants who were welcoming to the children too.
Maryse was also able to recommend car rental and a dolphin watching boat trip - and the person who arranged it for us came to the villa to talk to us about what we wanted and agree the price and then brought the car to us so it was hassle free.
Swimming pools were spotlessly clean as was the accommodation, (thank you Eddy), despite my 3 children bringing home plenty of sand from the beach!
Easy, flat 5 minute walk to the beach for adults was more like 10 minutes at my 2 year old's pace and stopping to look at the beautiful flowers on the way! We walked back in the dark sometimes but no feelings of being unsafe, such a friendly place.
Beach was great, really long so you could easily be the only people there or you could go to the slightly more busy end, one end had fixed beach chairs and parasols that you could rent, (200 mauritian rupees for half a day for a parasol and 2 chairs), the other end was a little more shady due to the trees.
The villa was already booked at the beginning of our holiday so we booked the duplex and moved to the villa when it was available. Duplex had a shared swimming pool which was more enclosed so warmer than the villa's and we had booked the villa because it was larger but actually the duplex had enough living space for the 5 of us, (our children are all under 8 years old so shared a room).
Airport transfer was offered, reasonably priced and arrived promptly.
