Stayed for 7 nights for a work visit in July. Selected by client due to function room bookings in the hotel. Staff were in the main friendly with special mention to Betty at the front desk who was exceptional. Room was basic but fairly grimy. Large fresh stain next to the bed when I arrived which wasn't touched from when I arrived til when I left. Leaky sink in the bathroom which was fixed during the stay. No iron/ironing board which was a little problematic when needing to press business suits. One was provided on request but only for very short periods of time. Lifts were slow, small and invariable incredibly crowded. Wifi was provided in the rooms but was erratic and dropped out. Lovely deserted swimming pool. Bed was comfortable but room seemed to be next to a room being used by staff on their breaks etc so was particularly noisy through the night. Breakfast and lunch in the Brass Cafe was varied and in the main tasty. Location is quite out of the way and there is no nearby options for convenience stores or eating establishments - not walkable. Suncorp Mall (only a short walk but taxi was recommended by hotel due to heat and difficulty crossing large roads) did provide some options for necessities and eating.
We stayed for one night in this hotel. The location was Petaling Jaya which was far from Bukit Bintang which is the main tourist area. The hotel was old and run down. Condition of rooms and bathrooms was no better. Staff was unfriendly and uncooperative. Buffet Breakfast was very ordinary. Overall except its hugely popular Health Club the hotel had nothing to boast off. So I feel I will skip this hotel next time and stay somewhere in Bukit Bintang.
This hotel is situated in in an unlikely location within the residential area of Petaling Jaya. Suitable for business functions, meetings and courses. Ample parking spaces available to patrons for a fee. Not very convenient for families on holidays and shopping.
Crystal Crown hotel is one of the popular lower price business hotel in PJ (Petaling Jaya area in Kuala Lumpur) Compared to Hilton, Armada nearby which are more pricey or really budget hotels in the likes of Sun Inn.
Decent clean hotel used to stay there quite often before I got my company apartment 9 years ago.
Revisit the hotel this month - rooms are nicely refurbish. Remove smelly carpet in the past and replace with laminate flooring.
Other than that some changes to the furnishing such as table lamps to make it more modern.
Facilities not too sure about it as most of the time I just sleep and go.
Breakfast at hotel is modest with a good spread of eggs, meats and local delights however nothing to shout about.
You can choose to have breakfast included in the room or not. But preferably included as if you are on business there is particularly nothing to eat outside of hotel unlike other parts of KL. Same style of breakfast as 9 years ago.. taste the same too hahaha...
Location wise - Not suitable for those on holidays as hotel is located in a residential location and nearest place to shop is about 15 to 30 minutes away by foot. Strictly for business travelers where you will need a place to crash for the night.
Do not be fooled by the name given to the top floor of this hotel: Executive Summit floor. The room I was in was extremely rundown and poorly maintained. The faucet was so loose you had to hold the tap with one hand whenever you tried to use it. Otherwise, the whole fixture would rotate! The shower pressure was great but since the showerhead was cruddy the water sprayed every which way! The hot and cold markings on the shower's tap was reversed, and the ceiling mysteriously ends over the tub leaving a 5 cm gap between it and the wall. The biggest joke was the toilet which refused to flush. After they fixed the flush, it started to leak so they had to send someone to fix THAT!
The safety deposit box never worked and they never got round to fixing it despite saying they would. I think they just gave up on it.
By the way, the hotel only provides one pair of slippers for a 2 person room. They charge if you want another pair. I think they said it was 12RM but I can't be sure, i was too gobsmacked.
Thank goodness I only had to stay a night. Even that was too long a stay!
