Kinabalu Park Canopy Walkway and Poring Hot...
Reviewed 6 April 2018 via mobile

When we arrive in Poring Hot Spring in the morning, we headed straight to the canopy walkway. We had to "hike" up a few metres up to finally reach the suspended bridge where there is about 4 platforms (4 different bridges) . And the third one being the scariest one (try not to look down!). After the canopy walk, we were told that there is a waterfall im the area too. (2 waterfalls in fact). One is about 315m walk, the other is about 3,315m away. So we only managed to walk up to the nearest waterfall and to our satisfaction, the water is so clear and cold. Our regret is not bringing extra clothing. After we had a refreshing dip( just our legs and head), we proceeded on using the hot spring amenities.

Best to come early in the morning and when its not a holiday period (local). Overall my parents enjoyed it (both ages mid 50s) and it was a good experience walking across the suspended bridge!

The canopy walk can be quite scary but having to pay a camera fee to take photos was ridiculous as there is not much to see at the top of the trees. Many tourists taking selfies every second step on the bridges created delays that the staff didn't seem inclined to do anything about. The pools were heavily occupied due to school holidays so we opted not to bother.

We visited it briefly as part of a Day tour Kinabulu Park so could not really use the facilities to its max. Personally i dont think it should be part of that day tour cos if time constraints....cos the Canopy Walk is der as well as butterfly farm and smaller trails which can be explored time permitted. We went on a Sunday so it was busy with local families. So yes I was disappointed. I would suggest go there for half a day n enjoy the sulphur springs if thats your thing

Bit overpriced as hot springs don’t look very attractive. Trek through to see orchids is lovely. It’s a long journey and is very joy and humid. Take advantage of the market on the way as good prices for souveniers

Unfortunately, what was once a natural hot spring has been sealed off. In its place, there are now essentially pods of big square bathtubs, each separated into 4 tubs, each with its own hot and cold water spigots. Essentially, you get an outdoor bathtub. There’s a butterfly farm here for a separate ticket along with a canopy walk. If you’ve been on a canopy walk before, this is pretty short without any real wildlife to see. Basically, you end up here on a day tour from KK out to Mt. Kinabalu. The highlight of these tours is stopping by a rafflesia flower farm. That makes this stop worth it! That and the hot water foot bath.
