Lets face it, midrange hotels all over Pangkor (I visited every place in Teluk Nipah and also stayed a few days in Pasir Bogak) are of low standard and not maintained properly. When facing the fact I must say Horizon Inn is one of the better choises in the area for the price . Rooms are ok, not too small and decently clean. Beds and sheets/blankets were clean and the private balcony is nice. Bathroom is poor but similar to other places. Food in restaurant is good, one of the better in Nipah, with a lot of choises. The hornbills are frequent guests around the hotel. Location of the hotel is very good, at the very end of Nipah beach. The local beach in front of the hotel is just a small strip and crowded with local tourists and bananaboats and other fast going boats. A better choise if you want to swim and have some peace on the beach is to walk for 3-4 minutes to Coral beach. Also here there are (too) many boats that you have to watch out for when swimming a bit further out from the shore.

Room Tip: You might as well go for cheaper room with a balcony facing the back (towards the jungle) instead of paying for a room with balcony to the front as the seaview is very limited and there is more traffic noise.

hiya all firstly i must say i didnt stay at this inn, but my 2 friends did ,
my friends had the front room at the top of the stairs that oerlooks the beach, outside their room is a big balocny that overlooks the beach and is ideal for eating on there is a lovely big table and chairs, and the view is brilliant just across from the beach, and you can see both ways up an down the road,
i did go into their room which was lovely and big it had its own bathroom and was nice and clean, they had a lovely big double bed and the bedding was clean, in the room was a fridge and flat screen t.v, overall it was a decent room to stay in,
now to the best bit ,,,the food in the restaraunt downstairs it was lovely to go to in the erly aftenoon for a spot of lunch my fave was the chicken curry the portion size was big!!,pleanty of chicken and no bones!! an the taste was lovely.
also they do amazing fried rice which can be chicken or seafood, both tasted so good!!
i also went for a nice meal one night ad i had fried fish which was massive and tasted so good as it was so fresh i had it with kailan?(sp?) a sort of steamed cabbage/spinach ??????, which was so refreshing and was a nice change , to have some fresh veg!!!!the portion sizes wer big!!!

When researching accommodation on the internet for Teluk Nipah, most of the guesthouses seemed pretty similar, so I didn't book anything in advance. I got a taxi from the ferry, and the driver took me here. I didn't have the energy to drag my stuff around and look at alternatives, so stayed here for 3 nights.

The location is convenient, on the main road of Teluk Nipah, with almost a seaview, but the room was pretty dingy (lots of cobwebs in the corners!), and the shower only had (very) hot water. The reception was usually closed, so I hardly ever saw any staff. My main regret was not booking for one night, and then looking at other accommodation, so I don't really know how it compares with other similarly-priced guesthouses in the area.
