“A frustrating experience”

This is my third visit to this hotel after its opening in January. I have had expected to see great improvements after my previous visit four months ago, but it turned out to a big disappointment. As a matter of fact, it was exactly the opposite. It got worse. I have stayed at many hotels in Malaysia, and have never seen a hotel where there are more service staff walking around the corridors and using the lifts. In fact, on two occasions, the staff actually stopped the lifts to chat with their friends whilst I was standing inside waiting to return to my room. This the height of rudeness that I have never ever experienced at ANY hotels before. On another subject, one morning there was no milk for coffee in the breakfast hall, so I requested for more milk from the waitress. I was actually told there was absolutely NO milk left whatsoever in the kitchen. This must be a first for any hotel. The only reason I chose this hotel is its location, plus the fact that it is new and therefore cleaner and tidier than most hotels. If you choose to stay there for its service, you are going to be sore disappointed. The staff are generally lazy and lackadaisical.

Waited over an hour and half to be shown my room (told the wait would be 5 minutes). During my one night stay one of the staff broke into my room and stole some cash from my backpack which i had left there while i went out wandering. This on top of the fact that the bed had dirty sheets and bed bugs.

The hotel was a rush job at opening. It had wanted to open for CNY 2009. The Executive Suite were merely a larger room compared to the Executive Room. There's no warmth and no ambience to the entire hotel at all. The rooms sparsely decorated without paintings and no afterthought to it. It seems that all the furniture and fixtures and fittings were haphazardly thrown in.
The hallways and inside the rooms itside were badly finished. Peeling paint, skirting boards coming off.
Housekeeping service is bizzare to say the least. One day, we had 1 bottle of water, the next day none at all. Then normal services of 2bottles would resume. Its the same with newspapers, some days papers are given and other days none at all. We brought the matter up with Front Desk but no apologise and they do not offer to help either.
Bell service? What bell service?
Staff rides on customer lifts all the time and they can even hold up the customer lifts to chat. I mean what great customer service is that?
For a supposedly 4star hotel in Ipoh, I rather return to the rather dated Impiana, at least there is a semblance of service and cheaper.
The internet service was a joke. Internet service is only available upon request. The bell service brings you the cable connection and we had to pay a deposit of RM20. However, this is the stupidest thing that I had ever seen. The internet cable is plugged into the wall by the bedside. There are no further wall socket nearby to charge my laptop. Isn't that amazing. The only other available electric socket was situated at the opposite side of the room at a merely 10feet away.

the hotel was not easy to find as we could not see the building clearly at night.there was this acronym DKLS ontop of the building instead of the hotel name which we thought was quite strange. we stayed in a 2 room apartment.everything is new but we find the floor not as clean as it should be.the shower hose bracket in one of the toilet was already loose.good thing was,we had a room with a view of the hills and the swimming pool.Breakfast was sufficiently good.

Booked 4 units of 2 Bedded Apartments for 2 nights. Apartments are new and staff are new too. Very slow in check-in and no proper procedures or systems to run hotel services. Confirmation booking from Sales did not reflect on their system. Bills come out very messy, some overcharge, some undercharge, Breakfast not ready as per promise. Heater not working, toilet come without cubicle - once shower wet the whole toilet, TV without remote control. Only value for money for its spacious apartment. Very basic home finishing.
