My better half introduced the restaurant to me a while back. In turn, I've introduced Ana and her grilled seafood fare to close friends. My partner and I visit this place purely for the sotong celup tepung (squid in batter). The batter is light and the dish is like popcorn, only with squid. In fact we once bought a bag full in place of snacks for a movie.

The price for us four eating a feast of three squid, mixed tomyam, kailan with salted fish, rice and fruit juice came to RM60 ++. Not bad for a seaside town. The only thing that Ana and her crew needs to improve on is the speed in which they serve the main dish -- the rice. Rice is to Malaysians is what potatoes are to the Irish and bread to the Italians. Wars have been fought and families have been lost for a bowl of rice. On the previous occasion, we asked our server for rice six times before we finally got a bowl; by then all the accompanying dishes had been finished (the first to disappear was the squid).

Ana will get 5 stars from me once this rice issue is sorted, but I will not hold my breath, or refrain from eating the popsquid until everything I ordered is on the table the next time I visit. If I really need rice, I'll cook a pot and bring it along!
