If you want to be removed from the chaos of Cenang Beach and are willing to walk 20 minutes (or pay shared taxi 12 MYR) to get to restaurants there, this is a good choice. Rooms are basic but there is hot water, a fridge and kettle and chairs and a table outside your room for lounging. Hopefully the new construction coming up next to the nearby Tube Hotel won't mar the otherwise quite lovely view. Lovely, smiling staff and full breakfast (but sadly using many throw-away plastic containers). Note that if you stay 3 nights you get complimentary ONE WAY airport transfer, not both ways. Cash only.

Room Tip: All are practically on the beach. Number 5 is on the end closest to the beach.

I was in Langkawi to play golf at Els Club and spend time with my son and his family who were staying at a luxury resort elsewhere in Langkawi. I decided I did not want to pay much for just a bed. Senari Bay Resort is in a quiet area a bit isolated from the main drag in Cenang Beach. It has 17 rooms. This place is not exactly cheap at RM140 a night. My room was at the end of a small block in front of a small bay. The bed was not comfortable but the room is clean and the hot shower works well. Breakfast was provided in a plastic bag placed outside the room every morning. There is no view really from the room. The location is near the jetty for ferries to Rebak Island. Cenang Beach is some 15 minutes walk away. You can choose to walk, or hire a motor bike or car for mobility around the island. Senari Bay offers rentals but the most convenient car hires are at the airport. The cheapest was Zamarisa Car Rental. A small car costs around RM50 a day.
In summary, the 'resort' is misnamed. It is more like a budget motel. It should cost no more than RM100 a night. The place does not take advantage of its pretty location. It looks cheap and but fortunately it is not nasty!

Room Tip: The end rooms have an additional small window. You have to sit up on your bed to look out of the small aperture to the bay.

The family who runs this business is extremely friendly and helpful, we felt a welcoming spirit from them, and they were available for any question at any time.
Also, the room and bathroom was the cleanest we have had during our entire stay in three different mid-range accommodations in Langkawi. They truly thought of everything in the room, coffee, water, aircon and fan. The breakfast was local style and was delivered every morning on the table in front of our room, which was nice.
We especially enjoyed the private and secluded feeling on this property. After some days in a busy and highly frequented hotel in Pantai Cenang this was the perfect getaway for us. Ending the day in a hammock overlooking the bay was a nice change to the bustle we had before.
The property is very well kept, clean and lovely.
We also enjoyed seeing the fisherboats on the river just outside the resort.
The street leading to Senari Bay is scenic and you will see some beautiful sunsets there.
It was also very helpful for us that the motorbikes were directly available at the property at whatever time we needed them.
Secret tip: Have a coffee at the beautiful coffee shop "The Smiling Buffalo", which is just a 5 minute walk away. This was our go-to location. You can even get access to the pool for 5 RM, which is just a steal for this amazing location.

Small cons:
The room is not modern, especially the TV, and most of all dark. It's really not a room where you are meant to spend your day or let's say longer hours, but if you are outside for most of the time it is just fine.
Wifi is quite slow

Senari Bay is definitely the place u want to stay when in Langkawi. For the price u pay, u get a well maintained room and a good filling breakfast. Us being a vegetarian they were very accommodative to our requests and the lady running the place is so very helpful. We rented the scooter from her for 30rm for 24 hours. We had also booked the geoforest package for 90rm from her and it was a wonderful experience which also included a really good guide. On checkout day, we had an early flight so they had arranged an early breakfast for us and dropped us to the airport for free(As we had stayed for 3 nights).

The receptionist was just awesome, she was so thoughtful, pleasant and peaceful... We loved our stay at Senari Bay. We rented car very from her ( which was very inexpensive)... We highly recommend doing that....
In general we found out that to do cool stuff you would have to drive your own car, cause things are not that close to each other.... The food was great... Lots of options and very inexpensive.
