We spend two nights in this hotel in a nonsmoking small twin room. The room was indeed small, but clean and nice enough. The staff was very friendly and we could borrow boardgames at the reception. There was free coffee, tea and wifi available. All by all it was good value for the money. And a nice central location.

We stayed here on two separate nights as a stopover, first in a double non-smoking room on the South East corner of the building, the second in a double smoking room on the North East corner. We found it hard to sleep on our first night due to significant amounts of traffic noise (trams, cars, buses, pedestrian, you name it we could hear it). Everything else about the hotel was fairly good for the price, two of the staff even spoke a small amount of English (although one had a giggle fit and couldn't even talk anymore :)).

Our second stay here was also not so fantastic as the non-smoking rooms had been fully booked, leaving us with a room that smelt strongly of cigarettes that our clothes absorbed. The room suffered from much less noise, but it was still enough to wake us early during the morning bustle.

Rooms themselves are what you would expect, prefabs and small bathrooms.

I would recommend this hotel only if you are able to get a room away from the noise (North and Western sides of the building should be OK).

Room Tip: Eastern edge of the building has far too much traffic noise for a good nights sleep.

The hotel is situated between the railway station and the shopping / restaurant area. It is also possible to walk to the pier (for a ferry to the mountain island). The hotel has English Internet pages, the staff does not speak English, but is very friendly and helpful. The rooms have been refurbished, but they kept some old elements and an old smell still sits in the room. I guess the smell was our biggest problem, but we kept the window open and then everything was ok. The room is being cleaned every day. There is free bottled water in the fridge. And one can take free coffee from a vending machine in the mornings. There is also breakfast available for only 500 Y. The rooms are very cheap, so it is great value.
