We discovered this small mountaintop cafe thru the help of our host in a Nikko hostel. We followed the main road and when it branched up into the mountain, we climbed up, and there it was. It molds itself into the mountainside. Everything is made out of wood, natural and smooth. The food was subtly delicious. Very flavorful and filling without overloading your tastebuds. But the star of the show was the view...
Perched overlooking the lush mountains, the valley, and the rushing river below, you can't help but fall into its peaceful tranquility. We were away from it all yet we felt at home. The couple who owned the place felt really at ease with their shop. We visited at the end of summer, so we got to try their shaved pure ice dessert.
Afterwards, the lady offered their ground floor yoga room for us to relax in. We stayed in that cafe for almost half the day. We even took a nap. If it were possible, we'd stay forever.
