Conveniently located next to the funicular railway , a decent enough hotel , good onsen baths , they have a strict no tattoo policy , yukatas are provided in the rooms. The food was very good . I did not use the bar , there is a cover charge & the drinks looked pricey. Hakone is a great place to visit , there is a world class art museum & spectacular scenery.

Really lovely hotel!

Pros:
- The rooms were spacious and clean
- The Onsen was really great, super clean and relaxing! The changing rooms were also great with lots of useful extras, e.g. hair driers, cotton buds, sanitised combs, oils, creams etc..
- Free transport to Odawara station (super useful, especially if you intend to travel to other big cities after)
- Decent selection for breakfast

Cons:
- the restaurants in the hotel are quite pricey and there isn’t much around the hotel as an alternative for dinner
- the hotel itself can be a little tricky to get to if you haven’t organised transport or haven’t planned your route before hand
(for us we took the train from Hakone Yumoto to Gora and planned to grab a taxi from there to the hotel, but they were difficult to come by, so we took the cable car to Nata-Gora and the hotel is just as you exit on the right - MAKE SURE you exit the cable car on the right because there isn’t a way of getting to the other side of the platform!)

Other than this very pleasant stay!

This hotel is next to the cable car wich makes it a good choice when visiting hakone.
Rooms are nice but a little outdated and they are not cheap. Diner’s also not cheap and they wanted us to choose at check inn what kind of diner we wanted.
Staff is very helpfull. On the second day it was raining cats and dogs and when we checked out and prepared ourself for the short walk to the cable car station the porter spontaneously got the car and drove us to the train station. Excellent.

this hotel is terrible, completely restrictive in their service, having to make a complaint in order to get some food to the hotel room, granted there is no room service available but given my wife is currently pregnant with major symptoms, they still would not send up some plain toast to the room without some major complaining. dinner reservations are only at 8pm and they insist you let them know in advanced on what we want to eat. ive just been trying to get some boarding passes printed and then been told it cannot be done. I don't understand how hotel that described as Grande, have such limiting and restrictive service. it's like this hotel is living in the 1980's. modern hotels do not operate like this. I definitely will not be coming back. if you want a stress free family holiday in hakone, then don't come here.

Breakfast was good. Oriental and ocidental choices.
Wi-fi worked well.
Onsen was good too. Small and relaxing.
The bathroom in the room is really small and uncomfortable.
The room was fine. Japanese style (futon).
