With people, being old and tired is something to be respected. In hotels, it is not. This place was probably state of the art in the 1970's when it was built but its clear nothing has been done to update things since the inception. It's worn out and needs a remodeling. While Hakone is a wonderful Japanese city, not to be missed, you should pass on this place as I'm sure there are more satisfying choices. The food in the buffet seems to be the exact same menu every day. The staff is enthusiastic but the massage attendant sent to my room by the hotel reaped so heavily of tobacco that I needed a shower when she was done. Come to Hakone but pass on this place.

I had stayed at another hotel on a previous trip and preferred that location for it's proximity to nature. However, this facility had a lot to offer. The dining room was quite good but had definite assigned times for our group. There is a decent gift shop in the lobby. One must experience the Japanese style baths. Having been with a group, I', not certain about prices.

The room itself was large and had a loveseat and chair. Many people in the group enjoyed its hot spring baths.

The dinner had a lot of variety for both western and Asian palates. Breakfast was good.

A snack/souvenir shop was also on the premmises.

The hotel is acceptable, but old and needing refurbishing. It didn't have the usual extremely good and clean bathrooms you usually get in Japan. The onsen was too hot to use for me, and the floors in it were so slippery that they were dangerous. the buffet breakfast and dinner was a plus, with many choices and some quite good food, but we had to eat at specific times. They wouldn't give us two keys to the room which was inconvenient. Our tour chose this hotel. I wouldn't recommend it.

This is a very modern and comfortable hotel. The rooms are quite large, and the buffet dinners in particular are delicious. The natural hot mineral springs are another reason to stay here. The hotel is also conveniently located to major destinations in the Hakone area.
