Spent 2 nights here, located next to bus station, impressive reception area, pleasant staff.
Room was large, spotlessly clean with panoramic view of lake and the pirate ship quay.
Breakfasts were excellent with a wide selection of both Western and Japanese choices.
The restaurant was French style, food was first class, staff were very accommodating for vegetarians (and even remembered on the second night that my wife is left-handed!).
Hotel has lakeside gardens with views of Mount Fuji (when the clouds disappear).

Visited again this year after enjoining it in 2017. I had a very good memory so decided to visit again with the family.
It is a lovely place to stay after traveling since it is located near the ferry station.
The hotel is quiet , beautiful view , the room are big and comfortable. The 2 onsens are great (I prefer the one in the 3rd floor).
Breakfast and the service are very good.
Love to visit there again!

Somewhat remotely located, the Hakone Hotel is perfect for the tourist trail, near the ferry station for the ride across the lake and then the ropeway up the mountains till you reach the point with the sulphuric emissions. Best to return from here as there isn’t much on the other side especially the cablecar. Can be done in half-day.

There is not much around the hotel and the cafe / bar has happy hours with not much service to talk about.

The restaurant food is good but the menu is limited.

The public baths are excellent - must to do if you are visiting Japan. This is also your chance to interact with the locals, though language barrier will be there.

Breakfast is excellent.

A fascinating hotel in what some might call a brutalist architectural style. We really liked the architecture, especially inside and it is worth taking a look at just for that.

It is in a great location on lake Ashi near to the jettys where lake cruise boats go from. Most rooms have a lake view and on good days Mount Fuji is visible in the distance.

The rooms were large and comfortable and there was a rather fine restaurant on the ground floor.

We stayed 3 nights. The hotel has a fort appearance from the front but has a much better appearance once inside and from the rear. The views take your breath away. Hotel is well located right on Lake Ashigarashimo-Gun and next to Pirate ship dock. Once you cross the lake you have all methods of transport at your fingertips so you can access all tourists spots and more. Ropeway right there as well. Our room was very spacious but needs updating. Bathroom especially. Difficult to climb into bath to have shower. We were surprised how little English is spoken by staff. Most staff friendly even though some don’t understand you. Regretfully we have to make mention of the Bar attendant. He was the rudest and most unpleasant man we have ever encountered. Why is he in the hospitality industry? He gives this hotel a bad name. This hotel is not cheap and the prices in the restaurant are exceptionally high. Unfortunately the few restaurants around this area close before 5pm. So dinner meals become a problem.
We really enjoyed The Open Air Museum - such beautiful surroundings blended with amazing sculptures.
