“Very good pasta ”

The place is ranked no.1 Italian restaurant in Hakodate. Therefore we made an effort to come here for dinner. There’s another young couple when we seated, no other customers apart from us in the next 1.5 hours for that evening. The owner/chief was the only one in the kitchen. We ordered a fish dish from the dinner menu but was told only roasted chicken or beef are available. We decided to go for pasta and pizza. The cold cut and garlic bread was small serving but tasted good. Pastas were cooked just right with good flavor and texture. Adding cabbage is the creamy crab pasta was a surprise, but tasted quite okay. The chief speaks a bit English, can not make too much conversation. Overall it’s a good dinner, but I did expect more from a place ranked No.1. If you happen to be around, do try it.

We were looking for a place close to Juujigai to have lunch following our visit to the historic Motomachi district. There really aren’t any restaurants in the area until we approached the historic Kanamori Akarenga (red brick) warehouse area now converted into a major tourist attraction for shopping and dining. This Italian restaurant is located inconspicuously next to Takadaya Kahei History Museum and opposite the Kanamori Akarenga area. It was about two pm after the prime lunchtime that we entered. The interior resembled a cellar. We were pleasantly surprised to see an extensive menu reasonably priced from which we chose two pastas, a seafood tomato and a scallop with fried eggplant. The pastas met our taste well. We concur with the positive reviews that the food is very good. It appears it is a one man operation so perhaps best to avoid peak times.

Atmospheric Italian restaurant in the warehouse district. English menu available. Delicious pasta and pizza cooked to order. Open for lunch or evening. Couldn't fault my meal, staff attentive, pleasant background music.

We are from Australia and felt the need for more familiar food than sushi after being in Japan for a week.
This restaurant is amazing. It s walking distance from the station and in the warehouse region. But the atmosphere is not touristy at all.
The staff speak no English but the menu has pictures and English descriptions. No problems.
Sadly the restaurant only had two tables occupied on a Sunday night. People don't know what they are missing.
Italian Merlot wine by the bottle was good and at a reasonable price.
A criticism is that water needs to be requested and bread is not offered. Simple things such as this would make a big difference. Also cutlery is "self serve" and there is no tablecloth. The food is very upmarket and authentic but the presentation needs to be improved.
We chose the deer and bean pasta and the marinara pasta. The pasta was probably home made. Both dishes were excellent !
We wanted dessert but none was offered ! Amazing! So we ordered a pizza instead. It was very good with a crusty base and seafood flavours.
Credit cards are accepted.

Highly recommended.
Just book this place ! Japan does Italian so well.

My friends and I just had lunch here and we all loved the food! The restaurant is very small, only 7 tables, but the chef (which I suppose is the owner), serves you very well. It is so cozy! The chef is the only person working in the restaurant, she takes the order, cooks and serves the table. Besides, the food is delicious.
Congratulations, I loved everything in the restaurant!
