If you want a genuine taste of Southeast Asia, there is nowhere else to go but Tiem Com Vietnam. The Southeast Asian food of all other places are toned down to the taste for Japanese locals. The food is spicy as it should be, and perhaps the best and only place to get Kang Kong! Tiem Com Vietnam is near the airport. It might be full as it is popular with housewives so calling beforehand is prudent.
The chef used to work at the French Embassy, serving the French Ambassador himself. Since Vietnam used to be a colony of France, this cuisine was what the chef chose to specialize in, though he is actually a well-respected chef among the French restaurant chefs in this area. He runs the small restaurant with his wife.
