I had a wonderful day with a local guide who drove me to the mountain with a bike. We took the lift up and then we spent a pleasant few hours slowly riding down, stopping to admire the view, visit a garden, take tea and finally enjoy a soak in an onsen. Not sure I would want to do the ride on a wet day but on a clear, sunny day it was just beautiful.
Easy, well managed, cheap, mandatory to access on top without efforts. Nice views during the ride, back and forth. Do not hesitate.
Get a day bus pass and Cath the bus to the cliff walk and then go to the mountain. We saw Fuji above the clouds.
If you're in the area, it's be great way to spend about an hour on the mountain. It offers a great view (Rated it 4 stars because in my opinion the view from Miyajima was far more breathtaking). There's a bow & arrow attraction in the mountain but they state at the entry that it's a Japanese only.
The lift costs 500 yen (round trip). There's a cute souvenir shop at the bottom.
Only way to the mountain top, 500 yen both way is worthed. Just like ordinary ski lift but you will see beautiful scenery of the area when up the mountain. When get close to the mountain station, a spot to take a photo and good to take it home at a cost of 1000 yens. I love the trail around the rim of the crater, 20 minutes walk with 360 degree beautiful scenery and strong wind to blow up your mind.
It is open lift where only one members can sit a time to reach to mountain. From lift only you can see beautiful Fuji san view.
